EM Hounslow Travel Training Project The Travel Training Project teaches students with disabilities to travel independently on public transport.

Ealing Mencap's Travel Training Project teaches children and adults with disabilities or additional needs in Hounslow to travel safely and independently using public transport. We offer person-centred, one-to-one training to build the skills and confidence needed to travel safely and independently. Learning these skills also helps to build confidence and independence in many other areas of life.

It has been a busy few weeks for Ealing Mencap Houndslow travel training they have been involved in different events to help celebrate the 60th anniversary of Ealing Mencap.

One of the first events was the fashion show where the travel training team and one of their past student. Took part in the fashion show.

The second event was the Ealing Half Marathon where one of our travel trainers and other staff ran to raise money and celebrate the anniversary.

And the third event a Charity Walk where the travel training team and other members of staff, old students & parents walked from Hounslow to Perivale. To raise money and awareness and to celebrate the anniversary.

There are many more events planned to continue to celebrate, look out for updates about future events šŸŽ‰

Due to planned strike action, severe disruption is expected on the London Underground between Sunday 7th and Friday 12th September, and on DLR services on Tuesday 9th and Thursday 11th September.

If you need to travel, allow more time for your journey,Ā check our websiteĀ or use theĀ TfL Go app.

If these strikes go ahead, theĀ impact of this strike action is as follows:
* Sunday 7th SeptemberĀ - disruption across the Tube network with limited services running. Tube journeys to be completed by 18:00
* Monday 8th until Thursday 11th SeptemberĀ - little or no service expected across London Underground. Any services that do run will start later than usual, with no service before 08:00. Any journeys should be completed by 18:00
* Tuesday 9th and Thursday 11th SeptemberĀ - no service expected on the DLR
* Friday 12th SeptemberĀ - no service before 08:00, with a good service on all lines expected by late morning

FYI, Bus Strike will start tomorrow from 05:00 on Friday 29th August to 05:00 on Saturday 30th August 2025 and from 05:00 on Monday 1st September to 05:00 on Tuesday 2nd September 2025, it will affect bus services operated by First. In the Ealing, Hounslow, Hammersmith & Hillingdon areas.

Meet our runners! šŸƒā€ā™‚ļøāœØ This is Tony one of our travel trainers, you might recognise him, as he’s been working at Ealing Mencap for 18 years! He’ll be taking on the Ealing Half Marathon on Sunday 28th September, and you could join him! šŸ…

Important announcement

The Ealing Mencap 60th Anniversary charity walk which was scheduled for this Saturday 19th July has unfortunately been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.

It is planned to go ahead but not until later in the year, look out for further updates
