Pilates is an exercise system was invented by Joseph H Pilates (1883-1967) who was born in Germany. Originally its called 'Contrology' in his definition Pilates is complete coordination of body, mind and spirit. It teaches you the correct mechanics of human body and how to apply this to every day life. Learning how to stand straight and breath properly, you will digest your food more efficiently , your bones will be in a right place and you will get right muscles working, supporting your joints rather than stressing them.

Seated arm circles on the Reformer box using straps improve shoulder mobility and scapular control, strengthen rotator cuff and upper back muscles, enhance posture and thoracic stability, and promote coordinated breath-to-movement timing.

Quick tips for our video —

✨lie supine on the avalon chair with a neutral spine — imagine a small space under your low back, no rocking.
✨hug your ribs down, draw the belly button to the spine and gently lift the pelvic floor.
✨keep the pelvis totally still — let the leg do the circle, not your hips. The position of our Client’s feet grounding on the floor supports this and blocks pelvis to move at all during leg circle.
✨move with control: small, smooth circles rather than big flails. quality over quantity.
✨breathe steady: inhale to prepare, exhale as the leg moves through the bottom of the circle.
✨feel the deep core and glutes working — this is stability, not just leg mobility.
✨keep shoulders relaxed and neck long on the mat.
✨modify: make circles smaller or bend the knee if you feel strain.
✨progress: increase circle size or tempo only when control is perfect.
✨end by resetting the pelvis and taking a few breaths.

Control — Pilates isn’t about quick movements or acceleration. It’s about precise, deliberate movements guided by conscious muscle engagement. Move with control to protect the spine, maximize strength, and improve coordination. Use slow, steady, and deliberate repetitions rather than fast, sloppy ones. Quality over quantity.
