You don’t mean to spend your whole evening or weekend checking emails or thinking about work… it just kind of happens.
The idea of fully shutting down feels impossible.
But here’s the truth:
You deserve to have a weekend that actually feels like a break.
It’s a hard pattern to break, but it’s 100% worth it.
Start with these 5 things you can do on Friday to help you log off, reset, and actually enjoy your weekend.
1️⃣ Brain dump the chaos
Scribble down everything in your head—tasks, random to-dos, stuff you didn’t get to. Get it out so it’s not buzzing in your brain all weekend.
2️⃣ Tidy up your space
Not deep-cleaning, just a quick “get the clutter outta here” so Monday-you don’t walk into a mess.
3️⃣Jot down Monday’s top 3
Pick your main priorities for next week. That way you’re not spinning on Sunday night trying to remember what’s coming.
4️⃣Actually shut it down
Close the laptop. Turn off notifications. Maybe even say out loud, “I’m done.” (Yes, it’s awkward. Yes, it helps.)
5️⃣Do a mini mood shift-
Take a walk, change your clothes, blast your favorite song—anything to shake off the work energy and slide into weekend mode.
It starts with the intention and then you gotta put some action behind that s**t!
