Victoria Scott Mediation

Victoria Scott Mediation Family Mediation - VICTORIA SCOTT is a family mediator based in Muswell Hill, North London, specialising in helping separating couples reach agreement.

I aim to provide a safe and supportive professional
environment in which clients can work towards mutually
acceptable solutions. I operate within ground rules based on
mutual respect. I aim to create an atmosphere that takes the
stress out of reaching agreements. Having worked for several years as a family magistrate, I have gained valuable insight into how the
family court system operates. Before this I had a decade’s experience working in Parliament on behalf
of THE UNITED NATIONS CHILDRENS FUND (UNICEF) and the disability rights movement. During
this time I worked with politicians from across the political spectrum, overcoming seemingly
intractable differences in order to reach agreement on important pieces of legislation. Working as a family magistrate I have seen first hand that the court process is not for everyone and
that mediation has an important role to play in helping families move forward from conflict and
breakdown to agreement and brighter futures. I am a fully qualified ADRg and FMA family mediator and am regulated by the Family Mediators
Council code of conduct. I am a member of The Family Mediation Association and the Alternative
Dispute Resolutions Group (ADRg). I have full professional and public insurance.

Working with parents to avoid children being caught in the middle of divorce and separation is what mediators do best

WEAPONS
Now our marriage is spiralling, spinning beyond our control
and we have wounded each other lovelost, bowbroken, ringthrown
first we used silence as weapons then we used words and fists
the arms race was swift and impressive our hands are now empty, they twist
in the dust. We have thrown everything away but our anger
and still we have to keep fighting.
But there’s something we can do together: let’s use the children as infantry,
let’s use the children as spies,
let’s bring them up with the Director’s cut with spin and with spite and with lies, let’s use the children as weapons
let’s use the children as snares
we’ll have plenty more years or reprisals if we make our unhappiness theirs.
