โœจ Meet Milka โœจ

Milka is an experienced Ashtanga yoga teacher with over 15 years of practice, and a deep passion for supporting students on their unique yoga journeys. As an RYT 500 teacher with a background in biology, Milka brings a body-centric, mindful approach to her practice and teaching, ensuring that each student feels seen, heard, and empowered. She creates a supportive environment where all levels of students, from beginners to intermediates, can develop their practice at their own pace.

Milka has completed her RYT 500 certification in the John Scott lineage, expanding her knowledge of yoga philosophy, pranayama breathwork, meditation, and mindful adjustments.

Her yoga journey has been deeply influenced by her studies with some of the most respected teachers in the Ashtanga lineage, including Sharath Jois, Manju Jois, and Saraswathi Jois. She received her Level 1 authorization from Sharath Jois at the Sharath Yoga Centre in Mysore, India, and has also completed teacher trainings with Manju Jois in Ashtanga and Yoga Therapy.

With a focus on mindful movement, breath connection, and self-regulation, Milkaโ€™s classes emphasize traditional Ashtanga practices while respecting the individuality of each student. Her approach encourages personal growth, both on and off the mat, making yoga a transformative tool for physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

I will be teaching an online class to raise funds for Ukraine. We foundraise for British-Ukrainian Aid who work directly with volunteers in Ukraine.

This practice, together with daily pranayama and movement in general has kept me sane through the last 40 weeks. I am super grateful to have these tools to help me in daily life, whatever happens, whatever weโ€™re going through.

I truly believe that mindful movement can be a coping therapy for many of us going though ups and downs of life.

I will be away for a few weeks on a short maternity break, but canโ€™t wait to be back in the studio.

These are the last two weeks of classes with me, before I take a short maternity break.

STUDIO CLASSES:
From 14th August, the studio classes will be covered by a lovely teacher, Giuliana (booking into classes is still through my email).

ONLINE CLASSES:
I plan to continue online classes until Thursday, 12th August. After that, I'll be taking a few weeks break. If there will still be an interest in continuing online classes in the Fall, I plan to restart them sometime early September.

As my baby yogi is supposed to come to the world quite soon, I might need to cancel online classes last minute, as it is hard for me to plan right now. But I'm hopefully still here with you till 12th August ๐Ÿ™‚

Why do you practice yoga? There can be a million reasons and often a different one every day. After each days practice I take a moment to appreciate this special time that I spent on my mat, and feel grateful for it. I also try to take notice of what it brought into my day.
โœจ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธโœจ
This morning I practiced in my garden, feeling the cool breeze on my face, before the heat of the day started. I appreciate this time on my mat today as a chance to slow down, to move mindfully, to truly feel my body and reconnect with my emotions.

I always start and finish my daily yoga with a mindful breathing practice to ease into the movement and slowly ease out, before I go on with my day.
