🌦️ Temperatures are expected to drop across the UK over the next few days. Please check in regularly on elderly loved ones, friends, and neighbours, especially those living with dementia.

❄️ Winter can be challenging for individuals with dementia. Cold weather can worsen symptoms, and they may not be able to communicate they are cold or recognise it themselves. Perception issues can also make it difficult to see icy or slippery surfaces.

Our Good Life Sorted Helpers can pop in for welfare checks, offering friendly company and making sure everything at home feels just right. 🧡

With temperatures dropping and the days growing shorter, many older neighbours and family members face extra challenges, from navigating frozen doorsteps to maintaining warmth at home.

Our compassionate Helpers offer dedicated Welfare Visits to ensure everything is alright. These visits provide warmth, safety assurance, a hot drink, and a friendly chat. Sometimes, simply knowing that someone will pop by can make a significant difference.

As its world kindness day I thought I’d share a photo of a recent picture taken in Margate from last weekend where we celebrated a friends 60th & also a 70th birthday! 🥳

Most of us have known each other for over 40 years. Amongst many years of friendship, we’ve experienced times of laughter as well as sadness.

From surviving cancer, divorce, losing loved ones & of course the dreaded menopause! We’ve remained so close & always been there for each other, no matter what!

We continue to giggle together as if we are still teenagers & tend to enjoy a good cup of tea as well as a Prosecco or 2! And been known to discuss the weather a little too much! ( I might add we were very lucky with the sun shine last weekend! 😉)

Today I attended the Singing for Health group in Maidstone, where I joined the Skylarks therapeutic singing session.

This group is run by Music4Wellbeing, a Kent-based charity specialising in therapeutic musical interventions to improve wellbeing. The session is designed to strengthen the voice and is subsidised by the Maidstone Branch of Parkinson’s UK for the benefit of people living with Parkinson’s and other neurological conditions.

Our Good Life Sorted Helper, Linda, has been attending the group with one of her customers for almost a year, and I can certainly see why!

I was warmly welcomed by the group and leader, Charlie. We had a great time singing a variety of songs, including an interesting and fun "mash-up" medley of "Que Sera" and "Let's Go Fly a Kite,"

The joy & smiles lit up the room as we all tried to get “our bit” right! I think we did fantastically well. X - Factor.. here we come! 🤩🤩

Charlie is an amazing teacher who gently encourages everyone to participate. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and hope to return in December.

It would be great to see some of our Helpers attend along with their customers. You’ll definitely have a fun filled afternoon! 🥰

🎶 This Wednesday, we are very much looking forward to attending a singing group in Maidstone called Maidstone Skylarks.

🧡 The group is run by Music4Wellbeing, a Kent-based charity that specialises in therapeutic musical interventions to improve wellbeing. They provide group music and other creative activities to support people in living well and thriving.

🗓️ They meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month

🕰️ 2. 30pm - 4:00pm
