Had the pleasure of visiting this hidden gem! Housed in the attic of the 18th-century St Thomas’ Church, this museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of medicine and surgery. The original timber-framed Herb Garret once stored medicinal herbs, and in 1822, an operating theatre was added—Europe’s oldest surviving surgical theatre, dating back to a time before anaesthetics and antiseptics.
