Hey friends
Just a gentle reminder: not everyone who *sounds* helpful is actually trained to *be* helpful.
I came across this news about a couple who ran a relationship motivation program (called eHATI) and are now being charged under Malaysia’s Counsellors Act — apparently, they weren’t licensed counsellors and were not suppose provide that kind of emotional support.
It’s a good moment to pause and reflect:
🧠 Mental and emotional health isn’t something we should outsource to anyone with a mic and a PowerPoint.
🎤 Just because someone calls themselves a “doctor,” “coach,” or “expert” doesn’t mean they’re trained to handle the deep, tender parts of being human.
There’s no shame in seeking help — but we’ve got to be mindful about *who* we trust with our stories, our struggles, and our relationships. Make sure they’re certified. In this case Registered under the Counsellors Act. Make sure they’re accountable. Make sure they’re not just selling hope in a shiny package.
Take care of your heart.
Ask questions.
Protect your peace.
Take care of you ❤️
