This afternoon we were delighted to welcome the wonderful team from Hope Church, who shared an inspiring talk about China and the traditions of Chinese New Year. 🇨🇳✨

Everyone especially loved receiving red packets filled with meaningful blessings, such a thoughtful and special gesture. ❤️🧧

A wonderful start to our China Day celebrations! 🎉
This morning we decorated our space with beautiful Chinese ornaments, generously donated by Lan Siew from Hope Church.

We then set off on a virtual journey across China, discovering the adorable red pandas and learning about the fascinating family life of snub-nosed monkeys. 🐾🐒

To finish the morning, we enjoyed a relaxing Tai Chi session.
We’re excited to welcome Lan Siew back later today as she shares with us about Chinese New Year. ❤️🇨🇳

☀️ Blooming good day out!
We took a lovely trip to Dobbies Garden Centre, making the most of the sunshine. After enjoying tea, coffee and cakes, we spent time outside soaking up the warm weather and admiring all the beautiful spring flowers and plants.

A big thank you to the amazing staff at Dobbies Garden Centre, and an extra-special thanks to Sutton Lodge for organising the transport, and to Steve for being our wonderful driver! 🚐🌼

Our wonderful vibrant members of Hope Church popped in for a social afternoon. The room was buzzing with chatter.
It was lovely to see, the residents got really involved!

The group also spoke a little about their Chinese heritage and told us about the Chinese New Year, the residents loved asking questions!

We finished the afternoon with a song the group wanted to share: "Getting to Know You" as it was exactly what they wanted to do with the residents, they thoroughly enjoyed it.

A Big Thank You to Hope Church Sutton. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

We are absolutely thrilled to share that Grace has officially completed her apprenticeship here at Grasmere Rest Home, and achieved an amazing distinction! ⭐️👏
We couldn’t be prouder of all the hard work, dedication, and compassion she has shown throughout her journey.

We had such a great time celebrating Pancake Day! 🥞

Our residents gave pancake flipping their best shot (we used tortilla wraps,they’re much easier to flip! 😉).

Whether the flips were successful or not didn’t matter at all… we laughed, we tried, and we enjoyed every moment of our “have-a-go” spirit! 💛

Yesterday we wanted to spread a little kindness, so we’ve left a bowl in our porch filled with chocolates and sweets for all our amazing delivery drivers. 🚚💛

They work incredibly hard in all weather, at all hours, and we truly appreciate everything they do. If you’re delivering to us today, please help yourself to a treat, you absolutely deserve it! 🍫✨

🌹 Spreading the love at Grasmere! ❤️

Today was all about making our lovely residents feel extra special. We spent the morning handing out roses and cards, and honestly, our hearts are full! There is nothing quite like the joy of seeing those beautiful smiles light up the room.

It’s the little moments that mean the most to us. From all of us here at Grasmere, we wish you a wonderful Valentine’s Day filled with love and happiness! 💌✨
