Most People Get This Wrong About Success…

Today’s mindset tip - inspired by yesterday’s London Marathon.

Because watching thousands of people take on 26 miles is a powerful reminder of something most people forget:

Success isn’t one big moment.
It’s small steps, repeated consistently.

No one wakes up and just runs a marathon.

They train.
They show up on the days they don’t feel like it.
They push through discomfort.

And over time…

Those small efforts build momentum.

It’s exactly the same with your goals.

You might not feel like you’re making massive progress every day.

That’s normal.

Here’s the shift:

Small, imperfect action beats waiting for the perfect moment - every time.

Because every step you take:

Builds belief
Creates momentum
Moves you forward

Even when it doesn’t feel like it.

So instead of asking:

“Am I doing enough?”

Ask:

What’s the next step I can take today?

You’re Going to Spend the Time Anyway…

“Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.” - Earl Nightingale

Here’s what most people underestimate:

Time will pass whether you take action or not.

A month from now…
Six months from now…
A year from now…
Two years from now…

You’ll either be:

Closer to the life and results you want
Or still thinking about it

The gap isn’t time.

It’s action.

More specifically:

Consistent, imperfect, often uncomfortable action.

Because waiting for the “right time”…

Is usually just delay in disguise.

So instead of asking:

“Is this the perfect moment?”

Ask:

What’s one step I can take today that moves me forward?

Future you is shaped by what you do now.

Not what you plan.
Not what you think about.

But what you actually do.

Today’s mindset tip - inspired by St George’s Day - is about something most people misunderstand:

Courage.

Because St George didn’t wait to feel ready before facing the dragon…

And neither do you.

Your “dragons” just look different:

Fear
Self-doubt
Overthinking
Procrastination
Self-sabotage

The internal blocks that keep you stuck… even when you know what to do.

Here’s the shift:

Courage isn’t the absence of fear.
It’s taking action despite it.

So instead of waiting to feel confident…

Ask yourself:

What’s one thing I’ve been avoiding?

A conversation
A decision
A move you know would take you forward

Then do this:

Take one small, bold step today.

Not perfect.

Your Results Aren’t Random…

Most people focus on:

Strategy
Tactics
More effort

But overlook the one thing driving all of it:

How they think.

Because before any result shows up externally…

It’s already been shaped internally.

Your thoughts → drive your decisions
Your decisions → drive your actions
Your actions → create your results

And this is where I see people get stuck:

• Unclear on what they actually want
• Overthinking instead of moving
• Doubting themselves at the point of action
• Stuck in patterns that keep repeating

Not because they lack ability…

But because their internal programming is working against them.

Here’s the shift:

Get clear on what you want.
Train your mindset to support it.
Then take aligned action.

That’s where momentum starts.

Do you have a fear you’d like to overcome?

I was only talking about this with Steven at The Ashgrove Clinic yesterday, and then this memory popped up.

This was an amazing day helping the cadets get ready to abseil down the lift tower in Northampton.

Something that many would find a daunting prospect, they showed immense courage and bravery, amazing to witness and be a small part of.

Can’t believe it was 15 years ago though!
