You might have heard of vaginismus, a condition that makes it almost impossible to have s*x due to the pain it causes.

Unfortunately, many women with vaginismus don't talk about it, because it can feel embarrassing or even taboo to discuss s*xual health. However, this area of your health is just as important as any other area, and discussing it with your doctor should be a priority, especially if it is affecting your mental health in turn.

Despite not much being known about the true cause of vaginismus, this condition does have a treatment with a high success rate.

This treatment is Botox. Want to know more? Click here: https://www.gynae-centre.co.uk/our-services/vaginismus-treatment/

Many causes of infertility can be diagnosed and treated by your gynaecologist.

In fact, for women with known or suspected conditions such as Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS), fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic infections, a history of s*xually transmitted infections, or previous pelvic surgery, a gynaecologist should be the first point of contact. If investigations show that specialist fertility treatment is required, referral to a fertility specialist can then be made to ensure the most appropriate care.

In many cases, a gynaecologist can diagnose and treat female fertility problems such as fibroids, polyps, and hormonal problems.

"The nurses and Dr Omi made me feel comfortable and relieved before, throughout, and after the procedure – which was booked in and performed efficiently and quickly. The moment I rang the clinic, I was met with a friendly, helpful and understanding voice, which was immediately reassuring – after a week of being terrified and kept on waiting lists by the NHS. Thank you so much."

One of the many benefits of being a patient at The Gynae Centre is our typically short wait times for appointments. If you are nervous about an investigation or surgery, longer wait times only draw out these anxieties. We strive to book in our patients as soon as possible to avoid these issues. Vaginismus: Is it all in the mind?

The cause of vaginismus has yet to be identified, but to say that it is all in the mind is a reduction of this sometimes traumatic condition and the experiences of those who suffer with it.

Vaginismus is a very real condition with painful symptoms. 3 signs of vaginismus include:
• Negative reaction or anxiety towards s*x
• Contraction of vaginal muscles in anticipation of s*x
• Pain upon pe*******on

Luckily, however, there is a treatment for vaginismus. Find out what it is: https://www.gynae-centre.co.uk/blog/when-s*x-hurts-the-botox-cure-for-vaginismus/

What's the difference between abortion pills by post, medical abortion and surgical abortion?

Abortion pills by post is a service offered by The Gynae Centre for pregnancy termination up to 10 weeks. Following a remote consultation, the patient can receive the pills by post and take them in the comfort of their own home.

The pills by post option is a medical abortion. There are two pills, taken 24 to 48 hours apart, and these induce the abortion. A medical abortion can be carried out at home in most cases, or at a clinic or hospital.

A surgical abortion can be conducted up to 23 weeks into the pregnancy. Up to 15 weeks, a Manual Vacuum Aspiration (MVA) can be conducted, which is one of the least invasive surgical abortion procedures possible. Beyond this, machine aspiration, or dilation and evacuation (D&E) can be used, though they are more invasive.

The earlier a pregnancy is terminated the lower the risk of complications. To find out about abortion pills by post, click here: https://www.gynae-centre.co.uk/our-services/medical-abortion-pills-by-post/
