*On Grief*

Grief is not one shape.
It doesn’t follow a timeline.
It doesn’t look the same on any two people.

And for some, this time of year is especially tender.
While the world celebrates, those who have lost someone may feel the absence more sharply — at the table, in traditions, in the quiet moments.

There is no right way to grieve.
Only your way.

I hold a personal belief that we are energy — and that energy transforms rather than disappears.
That those we love don’t simply vanish, but change form, and remain present in ways that are subtle, quiet, and deeply personal.

I’m also moved by an ancient Indian principle that says:
A person truly dies only when no one remembers them, no one speaks their name.

So I carry them with me.
And in carrying them, I can also celebrate them.
Celebrate what they taught me.
How they enriched my life.
How deeply blessed I was to have shared time, love, and presence with them.

There are tears of sadness —
and sometimes, tears of gratitude.
Tears that honour loss, and at the same time, love.

In my therapy work, I don’t try to fix grief or rush it.
I offer a space where the body can soften, the breath can deepen, and emotions are allowed to exist without explanation.

Grief doesn’t need solutions.
It needs respect.
Presence.
And permission.

*What if your broken pieces were never meant to be hidden?*

There is a Japanese art called Kintsugi.
When a bowl breaks, it isn’t hidden or discarded.
It is repaired with gold.

The cracks are not erased.
They are honoured.
They become the most precious part of the piece.

Today, in this pottery class, I was reminded why this philosophy speaks so deeply to me, and why it mirrors the work I do every day through aromatherapy, reflexology and massage.

At some point in life, we all break: the question is how we choose to repair.

Life breaks us sometimes.
Illness. Loss. Burnout. Heartbreak.
Moments where we feel “damaged”, unfinished, not quite whole.

But healing is not about going back to how things were.
It’s about learning how to hold ourselves with gentleness, how to breathe again, how to feel safe in our own bodies, even with the cracks.

In therapy, just like in Kintsugi, we don’t rush.
We sit with what’s broken.
We listen.
We soften.
We repair: slowly, intentionally, with care.

And often, what emerges is not the old version of us…
but something stronger, wiser, more beautiful.

Your flaws are not failures.
Your scars are not weaknesses.
They are evidence of survival, resilience, and deep humanity.

May you treat yourself with the same reverence we offered these bowls today.
With patience.
With warmth.
With gold.

*How cold feet affect your sleep*

Here’s the simple truth: If your feet are cold, your body struggles to fall asleep.
Cold feet keep your nervous system slightly alert, even if you are exhausted.

Warm feet = open blood vessels =
your brain finally says:
“Okay… we can rest now.”

But what if you wear socks and it STILL doesn’t help?

This is very common.

Here’s why:

-Socks keep the temperature you ALREADY have.

If your feet are already cold, socks simply trap the cold in.

-You need warmth BEFORE the socks.

Try:
• warm water bottle near the feet
• warm cloth
• quick warm foot soak
• rubbing the feet for 30 seconds

Then put socks on.

-Sometimes it’s not the feet — it’s the nervous system.

Stress and overthinking make feet cold too.
A calmer evening = warmer toes.

Warm your feet → your nervous system softens → you sleep deeper.

Sometimes the path to better sleep really does begin at your toes.

Good sleep is about giving your body little cues of warmth, comfort, and safety.
Small rituals make a big difference.
When you soften your evenings, your nervous system softens with you… and rest finally becomes easier.
May you have a gentle evening and a restful, restorative night 🩵

Life gets brighter when we stop rushing and let ourselves be here…
in our body, in our breath, in our own story.

Healing doesn’t always arrive in big moments.
Sometimes it’s a quiet smile, a long exhale,
and the courage to keep opening your heart —
even when the world feels loud.

Softness is strength.
Presence is power.

I always take a moment to prepare myself, not just the room, but my energy.

To soften, to centre, to hold space for whatever might unfold.

I’m a smiley person (can’t help it!), but behind that smile there is a quiet intention: to make you feel safe, seen, and deeply cared for.

This work fills my heart. Every treatment is different, every story unique, and that’s what I love most.

If you have been thinking of booking a session, maybe this is your little sign.

Life isn’t perfect, and mine certainly isn’t either.
As a Latina living here in the UK, I carry with me a culture full of resilience, warmth, and community. But even with that strong foundation, I have learnt that we all have moments when life feels heavy or overwhelming.

What grounds me is remembering that self-care is not a luxury, it’s a necessity.

For me, it’s through reflexology, aromatherapy, and massage that I find balance again. These simple yet powerful practices soften the body, clear the mind, and remind me that caring for myself allows me to keep showing up with energy, joy, and strength.

Self-care isn’t selfish: it’s how we protect our wellbeing.
It’s how we stay connected to who we are, even in busy, messy, imperfect lives.

And if you are reading this, you deserve the same pause, the same care, and the same kindness to yourself. Don’t wait for life to settle. Create that space now.

Life can feel so full: busy days, endless to-do lists, and a mind that doesn’t always switch off.

At St Raphael’s Hospice .raphs I’ve created something gentle and simple for the people who work and care here every day. A Moment to Pause is a little table in our Reflective Space with three hand-blended essential oil scents, each one designed to help you slow down, feel grounded, and reconnect with yourself — even if it’s just for a moment.

It’s a reminder that wellbeing matters in every setting, and that a small ritual, like the power of scent, can bring comfort, clarity, and calm.

A heartfelt thank you to my boss, Rebecca Trower, for her advice and support in making this project happen; to Alison Lynwood and the Fundraising Team; Anna Jackson and her Communications Team; and Dawn Miller. Your help made this possible.

And if I have accidentally left someone out, please forgive me and know your contribution is appreciated.

Sunday rituals, woven with colour, comfort and care.

On quiet weekends, I return to one of my favourite self-care rituals:
A warm cup of coffee, soft music in the background, and time to sit with the latest International Therapist magazine, wrapped in my vibrant Latin American blanket.

The colours speak of home… of plazas filled with music, the scent of spices in the air, and that slow, unhurried rhythm that lives deep in our culture.
It’s a simple comfort, but it shifts everything.

This Sunday, the words that stayed with me came from the book "Daily Glimmers" by Bridget McNulty:
“Stop and smell the roses.”
A reminder that joy lives in the little things.

Laughter that fills the air.
A spontaneous walk at sunset.
A scent that instantly softens your shoulders.

The kind of joy that doesn’t need permission, just presence.

May your Sunday offer you a pause.
A moment to breathe deeply, feel the softness around you, and come home to yourself.

Whether through scent, touch, or stillness—may it be exactly what you need. Have a lovely Sunday!!

Hands on skin, breath in air, feet on earth.
I became a therapist to honour the wisdom of the body — and the quiet power of presence.
May this weekend bring you back to yourself, one simple moment at a time.

Feet are the unsung heroes of our everyday life.

They carry us, ground us, and connect us to the earth—and yet we rarely give them the love they deserve.

This week, mine were screaming for attention, so I took a moment to stretch, breathe, and listen.

A little foot exercise + toe spacers + intentional care = big shifts. Not just physically, but emotionally too. In reflexology, the feet are a mirror of the whole body. When we nurture them, we support our entire system.

This is your reminder to move your feet, touch them, honour them. They’re not just carrying your weight—they’re carrying your story.
