What are the main cards and or energies for the world and or current events for this week of October 23, 2022, to October 29, 2022?

The Cards:

Mother

Liberation

The Beast

Well, this looks to be an interesting week and with some rather appropriate cards as we move toward the holiday of Halloween. It appears that we are moving into a slight swing back towards what I call “outward” energies again, which makes sense. But we still have some protection and even sort energies, especially towards the start of the week. More on that later, first let’s look at the cards.

The Mother Card is a friendly and protective card that shows a young mother with her three children. She is seated on a large and comfortable wicker chair. She has a baby on her back, a little girl on her lap, and an older boy holding her hand who is also protective of his sister.

The main colors on the card are the sky blue and pale green of the background, the warm brown of the chair, and the blue, green, and red clothing of the humans, all of whom have brown hair, except the baby who is hairless (and can barely be seen).

This card is all about Mothers, maternal feelings, a mother’s protection, and a mother’s love. In international or current events readings, it is often a Mother-identified country like “Britannia, Mother Russia, or Lady Liberty.” The card’s downsides can be overprotection and smothering. But usually, this is a good card, especially in a personal reading, a good week for drawing in towards the family, nurturing oneself and those close to us, and a great week for kids.

The Liberation Card has shown up before, it shows the young couple escaping a castle prison on horseback and escaping in an unexpected direction, a less obvious path. The card has bolder colors than the pastels of the Mother Card, with strong brick reds, yellows, bright greens, deep blue water, a stone grey bridge, and a brown wooden door.

As the Middle Card, I am getting the sense that this is an “energy shift” that is likely to occur midweek when something starts leading people to focus

outward from the protective maternal inward energies to a sudden break out of wilder and more excitable energy. Early in the week will be a good time for introspection and taking care, and the middle of the week will be a time to be ready to break out and do the opposite. A good time to break free of bad or old habits that no longer work, and also a time when teenagers and rebels of all ages will tend to want to break out of their current patterns and start out with something new. A good time to look for a new job, a new apartment, a new hairstyle, or tackle a new project or hobby. Just remember to try and catch your breath and be careful not to go out too far because the last card suggest that freedom can sometimes be a bit more than we bargained for.

The Beast Card, which I sometimes call The Dragon, is a mostly red card showing a furious giant lizard or dragon coming out behind a door into a hallway. The dragon’s mouth is open and you can see an angry tongue and teeth, ready to attack.

The walls and hallway are a reddish brown, The Beast itself is mostly deep red with back marks for scales and it has two horns on its head. In most readings, the Beast represents all those dark, angry, selfish, fearsome, terrified, and difficult emotions that all human beings have, but that most learn to limit their expression after age three or so. A two-year-old throwing a flailing tantrum is cute, but we expect adults not to act that way, at least not in public. The thing is we all have these emotions, and while it isn’t a good idea to express them fully all the time, attempting to totally ignore them or bury them can cause them to burst out of that hallway when we least expect it and rage about our lives.

The Beast can also be a rather nasty boomerang effect from too much “Liberation” of the sort that happens too fast. A Joyful breakout towards new ideas or embracing needed change is one thing, going “Dragon” wild and jumping out of a protected situation (The Mother Card) without looking for the right escape route (Liberation gone too far) can result in letting out the Beasts.

This is the sort of week that teenager rebellion is likely to be a theme, but it also fits on the lighter side with the idea of Halloween. When children and even some adults dress up as monsters, beasts, and other nightmares; traditionally they tell ghost stories and celebrate the weird, the scary, and the supernatural. Almost all human cultures have some holiday or ritual dedicated to this sort of exploration and acknowledgment of the spooky side of life and death.

To conclude, this is likely to be a rather spirited week; one that gets off to a rather slow but comfortable start but may morph quickly into something a bit wilder and confrontational. Do your best to go with the flow when things start moving but pay attention and make sure to take the right bridge out and, when you see The Beast, remember this is his time period so be careful of your emotions because it will be easy for them to get out of hand.

And be friendly to all the little ghosts, goblins, witches, and monsters you encounter this week; they are getting their first lessons in coping with the world of the shadow.

That’s it for this week!

Have a great (and supernatural) week

The card:

Yes

Fortune

The Moon

Well, after an unexpected break last week due to a spot of ill health I am now fine and back to reading. We can see from these cards that the energy changes that were starting two weeks ago are in full swing now. Once again things have gone from blocking and somewhat wild energies to forward-moving and hidden resources but more on that in a moment, first the cards.

The Yes Card is a mostly red, blue, and white card with a mosaic at the top and the word YES in blue at the bottom. While the No Card usually suggests either the answer to something is no or blocking, difficult energy; the yes card is the opposite. In a direct question reading it signifies the word, yes, but in an energy reading like this is often represents positive and forward-moving energy. What has been blocked is now unblocked, what has been denied is now permitted.

The Fortune Card is one of the most interesting in the deck, to me anyway. It shows a man climbing a winding staircase, holding a lantern against an otherwise very dark situation. At the top of the staircase is a box of old-fashioned treasures. The staircase turns round and round, so sometimes the man may feel he is going backward even when he is really going forward. If he continues going forward, he will find the treasure. The primary colors of the card are shades of gold, bits of red, and a very dark almost black background.

This card can be quite a few things, first, it can be about fortunes, money, and even luck. In an energy reading, it can be about economics, personal gain, seeking one’s fortune, perseverance in the face of difficulties, and making sure to keep the lights on even when things seem rather dark and confusing.

The Moon card in this deck shows a crab arising from a moonlight sea, reaching for the actual moon whose image is reflected on the waves below the crab with a rocky shoreline in the background. To me, it is one of the most stunningly visual cards in the deck. The major colors are deep indigo blue, grey, silver and rusty brown. The moon has a very faint purple halo around it.

The Moon in this deck wears many faces, as it does in most standard tarot decks but primarily it is about hidden things or mysteries that come slowly to light. It is also about intuition, dreams, psychic abilities, madness (lunacy), trance, inspiration, and creativity. It is one of the most intense and mysterious cards in this deck, and it adds a great deal of depth to most readings.

OK, but what do these three cards taken together as the energies for this week mean?

Well, for one thing as I said in the introduction it means that the energies this week are not blocked or especially negative, but they are not running totally wild and crazy either. Rather some things will seem to happen easily, so it is a good week to ask for a raise, request a vacation, or even marriage proposals. A yes answer is never guaranteed of course, but this is a week when permissions are more likely to be granted.

Now the fortune card echoes that, it might be a good week for individuals to ask for a raise, a loan, or to try their luck at some new task or field of study. On the other hand, this can also be a time period to be careful of money and fortunes, and I would expect to see a lot of continued economic stories in the news.

Finally, be reading for a lot of hidden or rather surprising things to come up in your life. As individuals, these may be dreams and hopes you put away that are now coming back to the surface with all that “Yes” energy floating around. It can also be hidden emotions, thoughts, or situations that may take you by surprise, as they slowly “come to light.” This can be both positive and negative, just like the fortune card, so be ready for a few intense moments that may come your way.

But overall, it looks like a pretty good week, just remember not to get too carried away with the yes and fortune energies, especially when it comes to household economics or investments. Make sure to read all the fine and potentially “hidden” print before signing anything.

Otherwise, enjoy your week, and wishing good “fortune” to all.
