Remembrance Sunday

Today we pause to honour those who served, those we lost, and those who came home carrying battles no one could see.

For many men - veterans and civilians alike - grief, trauma and silence can sit heavily today. If this is a difficult moment for you, you’re not alone. Strength isn’t found in holding everything in; it’s found in speaking honestly and reaching for support when you need it.

Take a moment. Reach out to someone. Check in on a mate. We remember them - and we look after the living, too.

Last night, our Men’s Mental Health & Wellbeing Group met again together for a Walk & Talk at Carshalton Beeches — offering men a chance to connect, unwind and check in with one another under the glow of the fireworks. 🎆

For some, nights like this can bring up mixed emotions — excitement for many, but anxiety or loneliness for others. That’s why it’s so important to show up, walk side by side, and remind each other that we’re never alone in how we feel.

If you need some fresh air, good company, or simply a safe space to be yourself, come join us. No pressure, no judgement — just good conversation and support. 💙

Band of Brothers CIC are excited to be working in collaboration with a number of fantastic organisations across the London Borough of Sutton — including Sutton Mental Health Foundation, a grassroots, peer-led, non-Clinical mental health support service, passionate about helping adults live independently.

Today, we had the pleasure of giving a presentation to their team, sharing more about who we are and what we do, as well as what inspires us and what has shaped our approach and ethos, to be who we are today.

We’re incredibly proud to be building meaningful connections with other committed locals, helping us reach more men holistically, within our Community - offering a safe, supportive space where they can talk, connect and grow together. It's always great connecting with others who share the same passion for supporting men’s mental health and vision for building stronger communities. Big thanks to everyone who welcomed us so warmly today and for your kind hospitality! 💙

Of course, a huge 'thank you' also goes out to Sutton Soup, for facilitating and supporting us to be able to network so widely, with so many wonderful organisations - without you, it wouldn't be happening now! 🫶🏻

🎉 We’re a Sutton Soup Grant-Winning Organisation! 🎉

Incase you missed it, we’re honoured to share that Band of Brothers CIC has been chosen as a winner at Sutton Soup — the amazing community event where locals come together to support projects making a real difference 💙

This grant will help us launch our new Wellbeing Events, a virtual peer-to-peer support group and an online resource area to reach more men across Sutton. It will also support our website rebrand and help us create new awareness materials — including banners, merchandise, and print media — to spread our message even further.

A huge thank you to everyone who voted for us and to the Sutton Soup community for believing in our mission to support men’s mental health and reduce the high rate of male su***de in our borough! 🙏🏻

Tonight, the 'Carshalton Beeches chapter' came together once more, for our 29th (weekly) session 📅

As a men’s Mental Health advocate, I’m proud of the community we’ve built — a space where local men support other local men, where honesty is met with understanding and where growth happens - together. With one common desire - to end male su***de rates one step at a time, we're determined to see each other through the bleak times and celebrate the wins life throws at us 🫶🏻

I'm also, truly humbled to have personally called on these gents in my own time of need and to have their support once more, tomorrow evening, when we pitch for some Fundraising locally 💪🏻

If you’re ready to talk, listen, or just be around good men who understand — our free peer-to-peer group offers a no-pressure, no-judgement space for you 💙

This World Mental Health Day, we stand together — as a community that believes no man should ever suffer in silence.

Through shared stories, open walks, and honest conversations, we remind each other that we’re not alone. Mental health is a journey, and together, we can make that journey lighter.

Tonight, the Band of Brothers CIC gathered for our regular Wednesday Walk & Talk in Carshalton Beeches.

The fresh air, steady pace, and good company gave us all space to reflect, chat and support each other. Conversations ranged from everyday life to deeper challenges, reminding us of the value of simply being heard.

👣 One step at a time, we’re building connection, strength and resilience together.

💬 New faces are always welcome – come along, share a walk and see the difference it makes.

Our FREE men's Mental Health peer-to-peer support group is back tomorrow, for those wishing to join our regular walkers, in joining our safe and supportive space, to talk, listen or simply be around others who understand.

📍- Carshalton Beeches Train Station.
⏰️- Meeting at 6.15pm.

Doubting the importance of nature, walking or being part of a community, to increase your wellbeing? Here's what the research shows:

• Just two hours makes a difference: Adults who spend at least two hours in nature each week report higher life satisfaction and better physical and mental health (source: WHO);

• Feel better in five minutes: Just five minutes of outdoor activity – walking, cycling, and even gardening or fishing – can lift your mood and boost self-esteem (source: Barton and Pretty, 2010);

• Nature speeds recovery: One study found patients who could see nature out of a nearby window healed 8% faster after surgery and used 22% fewer painkillers (source: Ulrich, 1984);

• Big benefits of biodiversity: Natural spaces with a greater mix of trees, plants, birds and water give a stronger – and longer – lift to mood and wellbeing, lasting up to eight hours after visiting (source: King’s College London, 2023);

• Daylight lifts your mood: More time in natural daylight is linked to fewer depressive symptoms, better sleep, and lower odds of needing antidepressants (source: Burns et al., 2021).

Don't take our word for it! Come down and see for yourself, what the power of a brotherhood can do for you. No judgement. No pressure. Because one conversation could save a life. 💬💙

Band of Brothers CIC was proud to host our regular Wednesday Walk & Talk group, in Carshalton Beeches. This week, we welcomed 7 men, enjoyed the evening sunshine and got in some miles and smiles, together.

Conversations flowed across many subjects, including health, travel, family, work and the ups and downs of life - giving everyone the chance to reflect on their week and to be heard. We even connected with a couple of new men, who showed interest in joining us on our future walks.

We meet again next Wednesday, for an hour's walk and some refreshments. Please get in touch, if you'd like to join us and benefit from our events. Remember: just one conversation could save a life.
