It was a pleasure contributing to this article on the emerging research around saffron.

Thank you to for the opportunity to collaborate on such an interesting piece exploring the science behind this fascinating spice.

The article looks at several areas where saffron has been studied, including appetite regulation, cardiometabolic health, eye health and antioxidant intake.

While some findings are promising, nutrition research always needs to be interpreted in context. No single ingredient replaces the foundations of health — a balanced diet, lifestyle habits and an evidence-based approach.

Ciao! Just a little re-introduction for those of you new here✨

I’m Valentina, Nutritional Therapist and the person behind The Italian Nutritionist.

After almost 20 years as an actress, a food poisoning episode led me to a life shift and to my graduation from in 2016, one of my proudest moments!

Since then, I never looked back. I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings:

- functional medicine in biohacking clinics - probiotic industry
- heath retreats

Nowadays, my life is divided between:

- My private practice with 1-1 consultations
- Delivering corporate talks
- Lifestyle Expert for .care (a wonderful mental health platform supporting employees worldwide)
- Nutritionist for team, supporting employees on-site at Google.
- Freelance Nutrition Writer

When working with my clients, I look at the full picture of their health and lifestyle. My consultations are relaxed, in depth conversations where we explore these areas together - and they never lack a little sense of humour along the way, because health journeys should feel supportive and enjoyable too!

I try to practice what I preach and make sure I also find time to wind down, spending time in nature, catching up with friends and dancing bachata.💃🏻

Just in time for tonight’s spookiness, I have shared three simple and nourishing recipes with to offer some tasty yet healthier options during Halloween or any party!!!

Pumpkin, apple and cinnamon will be some of the ingredients you will find of course, but the most important thing is that all suggestions will include a source of protein to keep your blood sugar stable, avoiding a sugar hangover tomorrow.😫

I’m thinking of starting monthly online health talks for those of you who follow me here on Facebook!

Each talk would be 45 minutes plus 15 minutes of live Q&A, and you’ll also receive a downloadable PDF of the slides afterwards so you can refer back to everything you’ve learned.

Some of the topics I could cover include:

✨ To Stress or Not to Stress? – how to support your body and mind in a busy world
✨ That Gut Feeling – practical tips to improve your digestion and overall health
✨ Food and Mood – how what you eat can influence your mental wellbeing
✨ Women’s Health: Balancing Your Hormones – understanding your hormones and how to feel your best

I’m also open to suggestions for other topics you’d like me to cover, so please share your ideas!

Tickets would be £15 per person. The cost goes directly towards my required CPD training (Continuing Professional Development) as a practitioner – which means that, in return, you’ll be receiving expert-led, evidence-based information and advice.

👉 For the talk to go ahead, we’d need a minimum of 5 people signed up, so feel free to tag a friend who might want to join you!

Questo post è per te zia. Non smetterai mai di mancarmi. Le tue risate, i tuoi abbracci e baci a tempesta. Ma tanto sarai sempre qui, vivissima nel mio cuore. Sempre sempre sempre. Al momento non ho ancora capito che è’ successo veramente, e’ successo tutto troppo in fretta. Nel frattempo quando fa troppo male respiro, respiro profondamente. Me lo dicevi anche tu, “respira amore. Va tutto bene”. E ti prometto che continuerò’ a ballare, a ridere ed ad amare. Anche se al momento è difficile. Seguo nelle tue impronte di godermi la vita piu’ che posso e fare tutto ciò che mi rende felice. Ti voglio un bene dell’anima zia Vicky, all’infinito.
