It does not need a perfect routine or hours of effort. It needs one moment of safety one moment of softness one moment where your body feels allowed to settle. A slow exhale,Relaxing your jaw,Letting your shoulders loosen,Stepping away from noise for thirty seconds,Letting your breath land where your feet are. These tiny signals tell your system that it is safe to come out of protection mode. Your body starts to settle, your thoughts begin to clear, your emotions soften. Small regulation moments change the way your whole day feels. If you want extra support, explore the guided meditations on https://www.mindandmood.co.uk/shop/You will find calm practices for unwinding your body, sleep meditations for settling your mind at night, energy-lifting meditations for mornings, gentle letting-go meditations, and grounding practices for releasing stored emotions.

The way you look at a moment shapes how your nervous system responds to it.Stress, fear or overwhelm often come from the meaning your mind attaches to the situation, not the situation itself. When you shift perspectiveyou shift your body, your emotions, your baseline. This is not about forcing positivity. It is about giving your brain a new pathwayone that feels safercalmer and grounded.A small perspective shift can change your entire day. A series of them can change your life.Follow NeuroBalance Hub for daily tools that help you rewire, regulate and rise.

Slowing down is not a weakness — it is how your mind and body recalibrate. It is the pause that lets you reconnect with yourself beyond your role as the helper, the listener, the one who holds space for others. You give so much of yourself to your clients, your family, your work. But even those who hold others need holding, too.You are allowed to rest. You are allowed to slow down. You are allowed to take up space in your own healing.

A shared laugh, messy hands, a quiet cuddle, the sound of little footsteps running by. We spend so much of our lives chasing the “big” memories, trying to plan, perfect, and control. But the truth is, the small moments are the big ones. They are what make life full and meaningful. So let’s stop trying to create perfect memories, and instead, be present for the real ones - the ones happening right here, right now. Because it is the only reality we have.

“Failure doesn’t block the path—it becomes the path. It paves the way forward.” – Aylin Webb

I absolutely loved being back on Radio Gateway with the brilliant Ros for this heartfelt conversation about success, failure, and the unrealistic pressure we often place on ourselves — whether in the workplace, in relationships, or on the world stage like our amazing Lionesses, who are heading into the UEFA Women’s EURO Final.

In this episode, we spoke about:
- Why tying your self-worth to success is so damaging
- The quiet power of failure as a stepping stone
- How perfectionism shows up in everyday life
- What it really means to be resilient and aligned with your values
- And why we are not defined by our wins or our losses

Ros always brings such warmth and insight, and I am so grateful for the chance to share this message — especially at a time when women everywhere are being reminded that strength doesn’t mean pushing through at all costs.

💬 “You are not a failure. You are a whole human being — learning, growing, and worthy at every step.”

“What you tolerate is what you validate.”

Lately I have been thinking about all the ways we tolerate things that go against our values, our needs, and our sense of self — not just in romantic relationships, but at work, with family, friends, even strangers. This can be so deeply rooted from our childhood that we don’t even realise we are doing this “to keep the peace”

Most of us were taught how to please people…
…but were never really taught how to set boundaries.

We learn to avoid conflict, not to upset others, to be the “nice one,” the reliable one, the one who does not make things difficult. We silence ourselves to keep the peace, take on the responsibility to “regulate” other people’s emotions.

We tolerate what feels utterly wrong — to avoid rejection, guilt, or confrontation.

But over time, this takes something from us. It chips away our energy, our clarity, our authenticity.
It creates a quiet inner conflict between who we are and how much of it we silence not to upset others.

This is not about blaming ourselves — it is about reclaiming ourselves.
Our voice. Our boundaries. Our right to be respected for exactly being the person that we are, without trying to regulate other people’s emotions and behaviour.

What is one boundary you wish you had learned to set earlier in life?

I am absolutely over the moon to share that I will be running a workshop at the EABCT Congress in Glasgow this September — "Building Therapist Resilience and Confidence in Client Care".

It is such an honour to be part of this international gathering of CBT professionals, hosted by the European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies.

This workshop is incredibly close to my heart. As therapists, we hold so much for others — their pain, their healing, their hopes — but too often, we forget to hold space for ourselves. The emotional load, perfectionist pressure, and sheer pace of the work can lead to burnout, self-doubt, and compassion fatigue.

That is why this workshop is all about us.

- Reconnecting with our own needs
- Rebuilding emotional resilience
- Reclaiming confidence in our client work

You cannot pour from an empty cup — and you deserve to feel supported, capable, and confident in the incredible work you do.

If you are attending the EABCT Congress, I would love to see you there. Let’s take a deep breath, reflect, and reconnect — with ourselves, with each other, and with why we do this work in the first place. 😊
