✨ Hello everyone! ✨

I hope you have had a wonderful summer and are feeling ready for the new season ahead. September often brings exciting transitions—children starting school, young people beginning university, or families returning to work and new routines.

While these changes can mark exiting new beginnings, they can also bring feelings of anxiety or insecurity. If your child is struggling with these challenges, you are not alone—support is available.

I am currently receiving requests to support children and young people dealing with anxiety and related difficulties. You can also find more about my work here: Psychology Today Profile:

Dramatherapy can help navigate difficult life transitions and explore personal experiences. It can be particularly helpful for those facing emotional, psychological, and social changes. In dramatherapy, these transitions can be explored through various creative methods like play, storytelling, and improvisation, allowing individuals to express themselves, gain insights, and rehearse new ways of interacting with themselves and others.

Red flags — heating up, feeling red, seeing red, crossing red lines.
In the emotional world, red can mean many things: a warning sign, an inner boundary, a heart full of love, or a surge of anger demanding to be heard. It is the colour of blood — of life, urgency, and survival. It can be the vivid bloom of poppies, the deep glow of a sunset, or the fierce heat of fire that warms or destroys.

What does red mean for you?
Where are your red lines, and how do you know when they have been crossed?
When you see red — in anger, in passion, in danger — how do you respond? Do you step back, protect yourself, or move forward with determination?

Dramatherapists, like all arts therapists, are both qualified healthcare professionals and practising artists. Before training in theatre, I received professional education in fine arts, which continues to inform and enrich my therapeutic work. I feel deeply grateful and privileged in my role as a Dramatherapist, where I can bring together my artistic skills, creativity, knowledge, and clinical experience to support others.

This is my painting, ‘Red Meditation’. I created it before qualifying as an arts therapist, yet even then I instinctively sensed the healing power of art. The work emerged from a personal meditation on anger—an intense, volcanic energy burning within—which I sought to transform into something constructive and creative.

It is especially meaningful to me that ‘Red Meditation’ has been chosen as the cover image for the Latvian translation of ‘Red’, a novel by Armenian author Hovik Afyan. This connection between visual art, literature, and emotion reflects the core of dramatherapy—using creative expression as a pathway to explore, transform, and give meaning to our inner experiences.

We all are aging. An excellent and inspiring article on the subject of aging.

“Thriving doesn’t mean being free of all health problems or challenges; rather, it emphasizes resilience, adaptability and the ability to find joy and value in life. People don’t thrive in longevity by mistake or luck.”

I scoured longevity research on wellbeing – and the deeper I dug, the more I recognized a profound underlying pattern

Kā drāmas terapija var palīdzēt?

Izmantojot ķermeni, balsi un citus mākslinieciskās izteiksmes līdzekļus, drāmas terapija palīdz klientam labāk izprast savas jūtas un emocijas, veicinot iekšējas pārmaiņas un spēju kritiski izvērtēt, un efektīvi risināt dzīves sarežģījumus.
