Re+balance Women's Health Company I decided to get into personal training after completing my degree in Sport Science at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

During my studies I was able to specialize in strength and conditioning, and completed my dissertation in exercise physiology. Your period isn’t just about hormones… it’s heavily influenced by nutrition too 🥗🩸

Every month the body has to build, regulate and break down hormones like oestrogen and progesterone. That process relies on key nutrients, stable blood sugar, and enough energy coming in.

When nutrition isn’t supporting the body properly, cycles can quickly become disrupted.

Low iron or poor nutrient intake can contribute to fatigue, heavy bleeding and poor recovery during the cycle.

Not eating enough healthy fats can affect hormone production, because steroid hormones are built from cholesterol.

Blood sugar instability can worsen PMS symptoms, cravings, mood swings and energy crashes.

Green powders, detox teas, turmeric shots, anti-inflammatory meal plans, expensive supplements… all sold as the solution to hormone issues, weight gain, fatigue, gut problems and skin flare-ups.

But here’s the truth 👇

Inflammation isn’t usually the root cause it’s the symptom. 🔬

The reality is your hormones do start changing, and those changes can show up as symptoms long before periods actually stop.
