Re+balance

Re+balance Women's Health Company I decided to get into personal training after completing my degree in Sport Science at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

During my studies I was able to specialize in strength and conditioning, and completed my dissertation in exercise physiology. I have always enjoyed studying how the body works and how to get the best results regarding training and by personal training I can take my knowledge into a practical setting. Having been taught Nutrition, Physiology and Strength & Conditioning all at university standard I can offer a scientific programme that guarantees results.

Most women don’t get missed because nothing’s wrong…
they get missed because the system isn’t built for this 👇

Doctors are trained to look for disease not subtle hormone imbalances.

So if your bloods sit in a wide “normal” range…
you’re told you’re fine 🤷‍♀️

Even if:
you’re exhausted
your cycle’s off
your skin’s flaring
your mood’s all over the place

Hormone issues don’t usually show up as one big problem…
they show up as patterns 🔁

And most of the time?
Testing is basic, rushed, and not timed to your cycle 📉

So you’re left feeling like something’s off…
but being told everything’s “normal”

That gap?
That’s where real hormonal support matters ✨

When Chloe came to us, she was already doing what most people are told to do eating well, training consistently, ticking all the boxes but her body just wasn’t responding.

She felt stuck, constantly bloated, low on energy, and no matter what she did, the scales wouldn’t shift.

Once we ran the right tests, it became clear why:

• Her FT4 was above optimal, putting her thyroid under stress and driving that “wired but tired” feeling
• Her LH was low, meaning her hormonal signalling and cycle regulation weren’t functioning properly
• Her SHBG and total testosterone were low, but bioavailable testosterone was high a combination that can disrupt fat loss, increase inflammation, and impact mood

✨ What we focused on:

• Supporting her thyroid with targeted nutrients to reduce stress on the system
• Introducing Myo-Inositol to improve hormone signalling and insulin sensitivity
• Restructuring her nutrition around higher protein, stable blood sugar, and anti-inflammatory foods
• Lowering overall stress load through better sleep, recovery, and smarter training intensity
• Adding in personalised supplementation to bring her hormones and metabolism back into balance

Once her body was supported properly, everything started to shift.

✅ 10kg down
✅ Bloating massively reduced
✅ Energy back, cravings under control, and her body finally responding again

👉 This is exactly why “eat less, move more” doesn’t always work. If there are underlying imbalances, your body will resist change no matter how hard you push.

Sleep isn’t just about “going to bed earlier” 😴

For women, sleep quality is tightly linked to hormones, blood sugar, cortisol, gut health and your cycle.

✨ Consistent sleep & wake times – even on weekends. This anchors your circadian rhythm and supports melatonin release.
✨ Morning light exposure – 10–30 minutes of natural light within an hour of waking improves night-time sleep later on.
✨ Balanced evening meals – under-eating or low carbs can spike cortisol at night and cause 2–4am wake-ups.
✨ Limit late caffeine – caffeine can stay in the system for up to 8 hours (yes, even that “small” afternoon coffee).
✨ Magnesium + glycine – both support the nervous system and help calm the brain before bed.
✨ Reduce blue light at night – screens suppress melatonin and confuse your internal clock.
✨ Manage stress, not just sleep – high cortisol = wired but tired.

If you’re exhausted but “doing everything right”, it’s rarely laziness.

It’s usually a hormone or nervous system issue, not a willpower problem.

Better sleep = better hormones, metabolism, mood & fat loss.
They’re all connected 🤍

Women in perimenopause are being fobbed off every single day 😤

Told their bloods are “normal”…
while dealing with:
• constant fatigue no matter how much they sleep
• stubborn weight gain (especially around the middle)
• anxiety out of nowhere
• low mood + loss of confidence
• brain fog + forgetfulness
• poor sleep / waking at 3am
• low libido
• heavy, painful or irregular periods

And instead of answers?

👉 “It’s just stress”
👉 “You’re getting older”
👉 “Try antidepressants”
👉 “Come back when your periods stop”

The reality is your hormones are fluctuating daily, not being properly assessed… and no one is looking at the root cause.

So you’re left feeling:
• unheard
• frustrated
• like it’s all in your head
• watching your body change with no control

It’s not you. It’s the lack of proper investigation.

Most women with endometriosis get told everything looks “fine”… yet they’re still dealing with pain, bloating, fatigue and cycles that feel completely off.

The issue isn’t always the testing… it’s that the focus is rarely on what’s actually driving it.

With endo, it’s not just about hormone levels it’s about how your body is processing and responding to them.

Because you can have “normal” levels on paper, but still be dealing with:
poor oestrogen metabolism
low progesterone support
chronic inflammation
and stress (cortisol) feeding into it all

This is where the DUTCH test goes deeper.

It shows how your oestrogen is being broken down, whether you’re clearing it properly, if you’re recycling it, and how your cortisol rhythm is impacting everything.

So instead of just seeing numbers… you see patterns and root causes.

And this is the part that matters most…

If you don’t address the root cause, you end up stuck managing symptoms whether that’s medication, hormonal control, or even surgery.

Surgery can remove the tissue, but it doesn’t change the internal environment that allowed it to grow in the first place.

That’s why so many women find themselves back in the same position months or years later.

The goal isn’t just short-term relief it’s fixing what’s driving it so your body isn’t constantly feeding the problem.

If you’ve been going round in circles with endo, comment “DUTCH” and I’ll help you understand what’s actually going on 👇

Most women aren’t “just gaining weight”… their body is responding to what’s going on internally 👇

When hormones are off, fat storage isn’t random it follows patterns.

High cortisol (stress hormone) → your body holds onto fat around the stomach. It’s a survival response. If you’re constantly rushing, under-eating, overtraining or burnt out… your body stays in storage mode 😮‍💨

Insulin resistance → more fat stored around the lower stomach, hips and thighs. This isn’t about willpower, it’s your body struggling to handle carbs properly, so it stores instead of using them 🍬

Oestrogen imbalances → hips, glutes and thighs. Too much or poorly metabolised oestrogen can drive that “stubborn lower body” fat a lot of women can’t shift 🍑

Low thyroid function → more overall weight gain, fluid retention, and that “puffy” look. Your metabolism literally slows down 💤

And the worst part? Most women are told to just eat less and move more… while their hormones are working against them.

This is why guessing doesn’t work.

You need to understand what your body is actually doing then fix it.
