Earlier this year, as I was sitting in a blissful meditation not a meter from the waves crashing into a beach in Side in Turkey, where I was teaching yoga for a week, with the sun just beginning to appear over the mountains to the east, I had a vision – to recreate what I was experiencing in Turkey back at home in Greenwich. Now I know I cannot bring the ocean with me, or the atmosphere of being on holiday, but I can create a little sanctuary of peace in the middle of the bustle and hassle that London can feel like to some of us; an oasis of calm, an escape from the busy, ever-present city, a space where you can come to ‘just be’. Now this dream has become true, the room slowly took its new shape, getting itself ready and into the right mood for being filled with all things yoga, saturated with incense and essential oil scent, for mantras being chanted and muscles being stretched …. but mostly for frazzled-up yogis and yoginis coming through the door, to leave some time later feeling unwound, somewhat softer and more open to all good things that wait for them back in their lives. Classes and workshops starting January 2015.
