I often have conversations with patients who tell me how it seems like more and more children are wearing glasses now than they used to "back in the day".

As an Optometrist I can honestly say it's not about getting glasses happy, I promise; we have simply become better at understanding visual development in a child, which can often mean prescribing glasses from a young age.

And we are of course doing a lot more close work which has an impact, but that's another blog for another time.
