I had my baby abroad with no help from family or friends.
Her3 everyone had their own schedules, their own lives, and I quickly realised I had to navigate this journey mostly on my own.
I had a C-section, and to my shock though not suprised 😀, I was discharged just one day later. At home, I still had two other children to care for. My partner was supportive, but he could only help for few weeks. After that, I was up on my feet, cooking, cleaning, breastfeeding, and pushing through the pain still healing, barely sleeping, and emotionally drained, but I'm an African woman 💪
There were days I felt like I was falling apart. I could feel postnatal depression creeping in. ( I was fully aware and knew I needed to fight it off). So what saved me was something simple: taking my newborn out for walks. Just the two of us. The fresh air, the quiet moments, the sense of moving forward literally and emotionally kept me grounded.
It wasn’t easy. It was one of the hardest seasons of my life.
But I made it through.
To any mum doing it alone, in pain, in silence, you are stronger than you know.
Keep walking. ❤️ don't forget to talk to somone if you need to..
