When in Italy!

Bergamo Pride was a lovely surprise i did n9t expect.

I marched with my childhood friends today, who have shown me nothing but immense support since the day i came out the closet kicking and screaming.

I cried tears of joy as I do in every March, I felt overwhelmed with joy and my heart was so full.

I cannot believe this is my life and I get to live it!

Rremida Shkoza is an Albanian Diaspora LGBTQ+ Activist and Public Figure.  She was born in the great city of Shkodër, Albania and is a proud Albanian-American. Rremida’s family escaped communism in the early 1990s by joining over 7,000 dreamers on a ship going to Brindisi, Italy. Rremida’s family was fortunate to be granted political asylum and move to the United States (US) in 1992.  
 
Since 2001 she has been out and has worked with several LGBTIQ centers such as LGBT center of Raleigh (NC) and LGBT center of Durham (NC).  As a member of the LGBTQ+community Rremida has been actively working and fighting for equality with a focus on the Albanian Diaspora. Rremida is the founder of SOFRA, an inclusive group for LGBTQI+ Albanians around the globe. She collaborates with OMSA, Albania on global initiatives.  Rremida served as the Executive Director of Dignity Global.  Rremida is an active member of the Albanian-American Alliance at Depaul University where she was able for the first time in the US history to offer educational live sessions on LGBTQ+ rights and challenges within the Albanian Community.  She is also a member at large of the Albanian American  Community, US, where she focuses on building healthy relationships within the Albanian-American community through academic and community educative panels and networking.

It feels like were living in a warped reality sometimes. The amount of hate being spewed from every corner of the globe at this precise moment is gutwrenching.

How many more trans sisters are we going to lose as a direct result of transphobia before people realise how harmful their Rhetoric is?

When will people admit and respect the fact that trans women gave birth to the whole gay rights movement? There would literally be no other letter of the alphabet or rainbow to celebrate nor fight for without Trans women.

It is dark times when hate groups like those we won't give a platform to get a charity status.

It is dark times indeed!
