Sometimes we are so busy and preoccupied with our lives, that we don't notice the body signalling us to make a change.

It took me years to recognise this! I used to push so hard in work and fitness, thinking I was invincible. That it made me a strong and empowered woman and that our 'times of the month' were annoying and not an excuse to rest and slow down. Even though that's what I felt like doing, I believed that my body should be able to cope with my demands. Besides, even if I had wanted to rest, I would have had to pre-plan space in my diary. How are you supposed to do that when (unless you're on the pill) you have no idea when you're coming on! 🀷

So Instead it made me sick and I suffered with exhaustion on several occasions, with my PMS getting worse as I entered my 30's. Digestive issues and skin problems, I've even thrown up and lay with cold sweats on a clients bathroom floor whilst I waited for my menstruation symptoms to subside! Luckily this client was a friend (, thank you for being so understanding 🀦)

After working with the ebb and flow of my cycle, I feel more in control, more me, more accepting, stronger, fitter I lost weight and feel more energised. If you want to know more, comment below ⬇️

Why is it, that as women we feel the need to continue to push throughout our monthly cycle? When for most of us our bodies are CLEARLY saying 'uurm...please not today!' And yet we continue to ignore the signs and signals and just get disappointed and frustrated that our bodies won't respond in the way we are wanting them to.

In my head, it was an on and off battle that my body kept failing me, when actually it was talking to me. You're monthly cycle is an inner wisdom that shouldn't be taken for granted. On my journey I have learnt so so much about my hormonal cycle. I love fitness and keeping my body flexible and strong, so the game changer for me was learning to exercise write for the different phases of my cycle. It meant I could do aaalll the things I love without feeling burnt out or like I had 'lead legs' 🀣 I feel fitter and stronger moving into my late 30's than I ever did in my 20's

It’s always important to have fun in everything that you do. That includes your fitness and your work. If your exercise regime is boring and unfulfilling then it is highly unlikely that you will keep it up. I love to tailor my sessions to the individual, not just to their bodies needs but also to their minds needs and what gets them moving and excited. Pilates is perfect for doing this and why I am a huge advocate, from super slow, restorative, rehabilitative movement to up tempo fitness style sessions. There is something for everyone and we have a laugh doing it!! 😊
