FINNISH-SPEAKING NANNY TO SWITZERLAND AND FINLAND

Hours: 40–50 per week
Gross salary: 6 000–8 000 CHF, 6 500–8 600 € per month
Start date: Flexible; any time from January to June 2026
Duration: A minimum of 2 years; preferably 5 years or more, after a successful trial period
Language skills: Fluent Finnish, good English; French skills would be an advantage
Driving licence: Ideally, yes
Age of children: 1-year-old
Accommodation: Live out – private apartment provided by the family

Description: An international family living in Switzerland, spending summers in Finland, and travelling occasionally. They are looking for a Finnish-speaking nanny. This is a fully staffed household, and the working language in the home is English, but you will speak Finnish with the child.

You will report to a Head Nanny. The working hours are mainly daytime hours, but some evening or overnight care as well as travel with the child is also required. While the focus is on childcare, including meal planning, it is expected that the candidate is willing and able to participate in various tasks to assist other staff members as needed.

This position would suit someone who

🔷 Is happy to live in Switzerland and spend summers in Finland
🔷 Can follow the Head Nanny’s lead, but is also happy to take initiative in planning and organising daily care and educational activities when on duty
🔷 Has excellent communication skills and social awareness, with the ability to interact appropriately with family members, guests, and staff
🔷 Can demonstrate exceptional professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality, working in both formal and relaxed environments
🔷 Can be somewhat flexible with the working schedule
🔷 Is not allergic to or afraid of dogs

The family will offer you

You can apply for this position if you

🔷 Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Education. Candidates whose studies were completed some time ago should be able to demonstrate that they have kept their knowledge current through recent professional development, such as childcare courses, workshops, or relevant certifications.
🔷 Have a minimum of 5 years of teaching/nannying experience after obtaining the degree, preferably with ages 1 to 5, with checkable references
🔷 Speak fluent Finnish and good English
🔷 Have a clear criminal records extract
🔷 Have a valid first aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to acquire one before starting the job)
🔷 Can commit to the position for a minimum of 2 years but preferably long term
