Learn how to restore health in scar tissue. Founder, Emma Holly has a clinic in Harley Street, London. Emma Holly is one of the UK’s leading scar therapy specialists. An educator on the subject of scar therapy to health professionals. With a clinical practice in London Harley Street she uses gentle but effective manual therapy, alongside medical devices for improving scar tissue and adhesions. As skin is healing after an operation or accident, different layers under the skin get stuck together as the body works to close and heal the wound. Scar treatment can help gently release these stuck layers to allow better function and movement in the scar tissue and surrounding fascial tissue, muscles and ligaments. Prevention is the best way to approach scar care, starting early with products to help the skin heal with minimal scar tissue formation. Emma teaches online and hands on classes and lectures on the subject of scars and supporting recovery.

⚠️ Scar massage is widely recommended… but what does best practice actually look like…?

Many health professionals recommend scar massage, but important questions often remain:
• When is the right time to begin scar massage?
• How much pressure should be used?
• What risks, precautions, or contraindications should clinicians be aware of?

💛 Testimonial Tuesday 💛

There is nothing more powerful than hearing how scar therapy is changing lives — and today we’re celebrating this wonderful feedback for Restore Scar Therapy Directory therapist Shannon Al-Samaraie.

After sustaining a shin haematoma in a car accident that became infected and required three days in hospital on IV antibiotics, Shannon’s client was referred for specialist support and management.

Here’s what they shared about their experience:

“After sustaining a shin haematoma in a car accident which then became infected and had to spend 3 days in hospital on IV antibiotics, my GP referred me to Flow Lymphodema at Gaythorne for opinion and possible management. Shannon assessed the injury and got to work on it straight away. After only 3 visits in approximately 2 months, my injury has improved significantly. There is still a way to go but I am so happy with my progress so far, as is my GP! Shannon is incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, empathetic and a truly lovely lady. I would very highly recommend her to any prospective clients. Thank you Shannon, I am incredibly grateful!”

Stories like this remind us why specialist scar therapy matters — supporting healing, improving function and helping clients regain confidence after injury or trauma.

We are so proud to have Shannon as part of the Restore Scar Therapy community 💛

Thinking of adding Scar Therapy to your skillset?

What you will learn from this course
The Restore Therapy Practitioner course will enable you to provide a scar treatment including scar massage, scar stretch, negative pressure treatment and intraoral techniques, with an understanding of how to use the techniques for different symptoms and common complications. You can expect to help people with itching, pain, limited movement, cosmetically inferior scars and symptoms associated with internal adhesions. Treatment may not completely resolve issues, but can often provide symptom relief. In early scar healing you will be able to advise on topical products and self-scar care. If you are already trained to use kinesiology tape, you can use the application methods shown on this course in a professional capacity.

Why learn with us?
"Great trainer, loved the course and would highly recommend. In depth explanations, great knowledge and teaching skills. Thank you"
Our students love our courses so much, they come back and learn some more.

We offer ongoing support, the opportunity to sign up to a network of therapists local to you, ongoing free opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge, also opportunities to learn how to improve your practice.

We wouldn't be the UK's leading scar therapy education provider if it weren't for all that and more.

After sustaining a shin haematoma in a car accident that became infected and required hospitalisation, Shannon’s client was referred for specialist opinion and management.

After just three sessions over two months, the improvement has been significant — with both client and GP delighted with the progress.

Here’s what her client shared:

“Shannon assessed the injury and got to work on it straight away. After only 3 visits in approximately 2 months, my injury has improved significantly. There is still a way to go but I am so happy with my progress so far, as is my GP! Shannon is incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, empathetic and a truly lovely lady. Emma’s story

Emma Holly has one of the UK’s leading ScarWork clinics and now offers training to physiotherapists and other physical bodywork professionals, in this specialised gentle but effective therapy for scar tissue and adhesions. As skin is healing after an operation or accident, different layers under the skin get stuck together as the body works to close and heal the wound. ScarWork helps gently release these stuck layers to allow better function and movement in the scar tissue and surrounding fascial tissue, muscles and ligaments. Originator of these unique technique to improve scars from surgery or accidents is Sharon Wheeler, a therapist from Seattle USA. ScarWork has been developed over many years, to improve the condition and integration of scar tissue and promote healing. You may not have heard of it as only been established in the UK for a short time, so only a few therapists are offering these specialised scar treatments.

Emma was highly commended complementary therapist of the year by one of the UK’s largest therapy associations FHT (Federation of Holistic Therapists) and has had continued coverage in national and local press and professional journals for her business.
