๐๐พ Having ran 16 marathon & 18 halfโs, Iโve gotten it wrong & Iโve learned from my mistakes! Hereโs my stop 5 tips to help you!โฃ

๐. ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐!โฃ ๐
Sounds simple, but don't change anything on race day!. Keep to your normal pre race routine! Often people think โIโll use my new shoesโ. ๐๐๐๐! Use the shoes youโve trained in, even if they are at the end of their life. Donโt change your hydration, or suddenly start using gels on race day! Gels can be individual choice, taste, need. Get used to having them while running pre race avoiding tummy upsets!โฃ

At the start line you can be waiting a long time in your pen (even an hour or more)โฃ
Bring disposable clothes to wear, an environmentallay friendly bin bag to wear! It'll keep you warm right until you set off!โฃ

Adrenaline, excitement, starting atmosphere all adds to a very energetic start FOR EVERYONE! Don't be carried with the crowd running faster than they should. Itโs happened to me and within a few kilometres youโre out of breath. โฃ
๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ Go to the side & run your pace! Let all this people run past, believe me, โฃ
You'll see them at mile 18 again!!โฃ

Every run, every gym session are all with the marathon mindset.โฃ
Visualise yourself on the course, be mid crowd, crossing the finish line.โฃ
Practice running using Gels, having water whilst running, even having a toilet break - so it's all 2nd nature on the big day! โฃ

May sound silly, but enjoy every moment. Even when it may seem impossible, smile, use the Crowd, cheer with them!โฃ
Be proud of your commitment, dedication & achievement! Remember not everyone had ran a marathon. What youโre doing is incredible. So absorb that feeling! โฃ
