Let me introduce myself (I probably already have, but it’s been a while!)
I’m Leila, I’ve been bootstrapping this beautiful project for a few years now and boy is it hard, like a car running on fumes, I’m running on pure passion! 🎶🎶🎶
Im a singer, and like so many, would love for my music to be heard, but I don’t necessarily want to get into the industry and try to get signed, and this is when I hit that famous rock and a hard place!
Learning as much as I could from the Producer I was working with, I was informed that to get music licensed you need a publisher and yet, to get a publisher you need to have already licensed music (shall we call the publisher the rock!?)
Wow was I frustrated, I’d go as far as to say I was angry, 😡 with the way the whole industry worked, how hard it was to proceed with building a music career outside being a mega star ⭐️
This turned my head toward music licensing libraries, which is when I got smack in the face number 2!
With an Inch thick contract in hand basically signing the rights to my music to someone claiming it’s now theirs! it was looking dismal! And on top of that I only got a couple pence chucked my way, for my trouble! 🤪
Things had to change………
