Combining two of my favourite things - sharing a bit of psychoeducation from a counselling perspective and then experiencing it together through sound.
Before the sound bath on Friday, we spoke about the nervous system and how it can move into hyper-arousal (when everything feels heightened, anxious or restless) or hypo-arousal (when we feel shut down, flat or disconnected). Both are part of our fight-or-flight survival response.
We talked about noticing the signs in ourselves and simple ways of coming back into the body.
One of the grounding techniques we used was the 5–4–3–2–1 practice:
5 things you can see
4 things you can touch
3 things you can hear
2 things you can smell
1 thing you can taste
A simple way of bringing your attention back into the present moment.
After this grounding practice, we moved into the sound bath.
This one felt particularly special - very calm, slow and gentle.
Thank you to everyone who came and shared the space, I truly appreciate it. 🙏✨
