Hi everybody! I got to do a thing!

I was really honoured just over a week ago to host a CPD event for the NAVP where I got to talk about one of my major interest and the primary work when I worked for The AnImal Health Trust. Equine Water Tredamills!

Since 2015 I have been part of a team investigating their use and what happens to your horse on a water treadmill and I got to spend a couple hours summarising the work and sharing with fellow professionals some of the most important details and things to look out for when using them and I loved it!

CPD as a professional is so important and being able to provide knowledge based from my experience in the field is such a great experience. I hope those who attended enjoyed it and learnt from it and if you’d like to know more then please get in contact with me on:

‼️‼️‼️New Research‼️‼️‼️

We’re back with another study publication! Here’s another paper from the team I’m so lucky to be a part of on the effects of Long Term Water Treadmill exercise on muscle development with a comparison to a group doing matched type training but without the Water Treadmill.

This was a really interesting aspect of the study and I encourage you all to give it a read especially as it’s OPEN ACCESS so you can get access completely free.

Things like this are some of the proudest parts of my career where I’ve not only spent time studying relevant subjects to my work as your Vet Physio but also working with amazing people to create the knowledge that informs your animals care. Hi to all the clients and people who have kindly followed my page and business and those who just happen to come across this page in the wild I have a question for you all.

What are some aspects or topics of Veterinary Physiotherapy, electrotherapies and the surrounding profession you’d like to understand or have explained?

I’m a very lucky individual that prior to becomeing a Vet Physio I had a career in Orthopaedic Research, as I know a lot of my clients have heard about 😂, working with some amazing researchers that taught me to be literate in research but I’m also a very practical man so I’d like topics that your curious about and write up some posts looking at the science and the practical side from my point of view.

I was joined by today in treating some of my clients and it was one of the best days of work I’ve had in a while!

Self Employed Veterinary Physiotherapy can be a professionally lonely job unless you’re in clinic and it’s awesome to bounce ideas off a colleague every once in a while, I don’t want to be blinkered by my experiences, and even better if it’s with a friend!

Now this one is a special paper and the culmination of many years of work by the research team I had the fortune to be a member. We started this work before I even started training to be a Vet Physio!

What’s even better is this paper we managed to get published as open access! No paywall! No restrictions to access! Open for anybody to download and keep after peer review and publishing in the Journal “Animals”.

It’s another Water Treadmill study but one of the first to observe the longitudinal effects and I can’t say how happy I am to see it published especially as I’ve not been as helpful to my team this year with finishing off my MSc 😂

This is the type of work that helps me form my experience and knowledge as a Veterinary Physiotherapist and if this is the type of person you’d like to work with your animals then don’t hesitate to get in contact with me!

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I’m making a last call for responses from vet professionals in support of my thesis alongside the field portion of my study.

If you could spare 5 minutes of your time filling this out testing the ease of use of an existing posture categorisation method I would appreciate it. Otherwise thank you for your time.

Hey horsey friends I have a few of my late Charlie’s rugs to get rid of and some of them just have some big rips in and it just wouldn’t be reasonable to try selling them but the idea of them going in the bin and land fill seems a little crap. Does anybody know of anyone who takes old damaged rugs and repairs or just find a use for them?

If you are in anyway connected to animal rehab could you please do me a favour?

As part of my MSc project I am looking at a posture categorisation method that my wonderful colleagues from my research days occasionally employed but never reported on as the method hadn’t been validated. I’m looking at this method to see how objective the categories are and how well individuals can categorise horses back and abdominal posture based on the definitions.

The questionnaire should take no more than 10 minutes and you’d be helping me immensely.

Somebody is far more attentive than somebody else 😂 I got to treat some long standing clients today who are always a delight as quirky as they can be. I swear they’re like the ☀️ and 🌙 with how they take to treatment.

I’m incredibly happy with how these two have changed in the last year especially seeing as Jasper (left) came with a unique challenge.

I don’t broadcast my clients conditions because I don’t like to give out information but I tell you Jasper has been wild! 😂
