Joint hypermobility means that some or all of a person's joints have an unusually large range of movement.

Many people will have hypermobility without any problems. However, in some people it can lead to painful joints. Physiotherapy is a good way of strengthening the soft tissue around the joint to give it more support.

Frozen shoulder, also known as adhesive capsulitis, occurs when ligaments around the shoulder joint swell and become stiff.

Pain and stiffness are the two main symptoms of frozen shoulder, which can vary from being mild to severe enough that you may not be able to move your shoulder. Physiotherapy can help you get movement back in your shoulder. Your physio can advise on posture and various stretching/strength exercises.

During the current pandemic and lockdown, we wanted to reassure people that the clinic remains open to help people with essential and urgent problems.
Following all Covid precautions, the clinic offers telephone, virtual and face to face appointments.
If you are shielding or worrying about leaving home, we may still be able to offer you some helpful advice.
For face to face appointments, patients will be asked to answer some Covid screening questions, to assess if it is appropriate to offer an appointment in the clinic.
Therapists wear full PPE and ask patients to wear a mask and sanitise their hands on entry and departure. Appointments are more spread out to allow full cleaning and airing of the treatment room between patients.
