What a shock we had on Thursday. Finding out the reason our dogs back legs become suddenly paralyzed was due to Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) . He had emergency spinal surgery on Fri .

Between myself and my eldest daughter Sophia Gait-Meddings we are around the clock caring for him . Making sure we squeeze his bladder ( not easy ) doing physio & massage / giving him medication and making sure he rests in his crate..along with regular vet visits.

Some people would think us mad , but for us putting him to sleep was not an option . Not because we are selfish but because he has so much life in him at only 4 yrs old . He has proved against the odds!!! From us being told "he is unlikely to walk again due to the damaged disc and compression of his spinal cord ". Today he responded to the pinch on his back feet ! The vet was shocked !! Yes me and Sophia had a little cry 😢 tears of happiness. It's still a long road and I AM STILL WORKING when sophia can care for him too.

I'm determined that he will be able to walk again ! We all love him so much! 🙏 What lovely news I get to tell my youngest daughter after school on her birthday 😊
