FUNERAL ARRANGER/ ADMINISTRATOR.

In this role you’ll maintain the highest level of professionalism, handle all communication with grace and provide sensitive assistance to our clients.
Your involvement will span from the very first contact through to the funeral and beyond.
This position requires not only impeccable interpersonal skills but confidence and a solid understanding of client options.
As part of this role you will also be part of the on-call rota team to cover one weekend every 4th week.
Wages negotiable depending on experience.

Hours are Monday - Thursday 9:30 - 3:30 with optional overtime.
Duties will include all aspects of funeral care.

We are sad to announce the passing of Stella Johnstone (nee Drennan).

Peacefully on the 11th of April at Eskdale House Care Home with her daughter Vera and granddaughter Laura Marie by her side Stella aged 94 years.

A graveside service will be held at Middlebie Cemetery on Tuesday 5th May at 12:00 noon. Friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Peacefully on the 11th of April at Eden Valley Hospice, May aged 91 years.
A much loved wife of the late Donald, loving mam of Donald and the late Brenda, mother-in-law of Linda, adored granny of Adam, Ellis and Grace, cherished auntie and a friend to many.

In light of the recent and deeply troubling developments surrounding Legacy Funerals in Hull, I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to all families affected. No family should ever experience added distress at a time of grief, and my thoughts are firmly with those impacted by these incidents.
As an independent funeral director and a proud member of The National Association of Funeral Directors, I believe strongly that our profession must be properly regulated. Families deserve absolute confidence in the care their loved ones receive. I have long advocated for mandatory professional qualifications within the funeral sector—something I was personally passionate about when I completed my own training as a funeral director.
Now more than ever, it is clear that meaningful regulation and universal professional standards are essential to protect the dignity, trust, and wellbeing of the families we serve.
