Sounds Like Healing, run by Jane Staffieri and Emily Foulkes, offers a range of services including group and one to one experiences which focus on the healing benefits of the voice, breath, movement, music and sound. She enjoyed 20 years of being a gigging singer in a Ska band in Bristol. Jane has spent her career seeing first hand the transformative power of music in her work with music charities. It is this experience plus her passion for helping others which has led Jane on this path. Jane has completed Levels 1 and 2 Diplomas in Sound Healing with the Sound Healing Academy (Approved training provider for International Institute for Complementay Therapists). Jane teaches Taiko drumming to children in Cornwall. She also provides one to one Music Mentoring for children and young people who have lived with Adverse Childhood Experiences. Jane and Emily are both Trauma and Mental Health Informed Practitioners. Emily grew up surrounded by music and the arts. She had classical singing lessons, took ballet up to Grade 7 and was involved in many dance groups. Emily has a degree in Performing Arts (dance) and has worked with music and the arts for over 20 years. Emily is a Reiki practitioner, qualified Massage Therapist (ITEC), Singing Leader for the British Lung Foundation and is has completed MA research on Singing for Health and Well-being. She has a particular interest in Singing for pain management and Mental Health and in the use of voice and singing for health and healing. Emily and Jane are both singers and run choirs and singing groups for adults, people suffering with lung conditions and for children and young people. They are both passionate about the power of sound and voice. Alongside group experiences and workshops, Jane and Emily offer individual treatments using Sound, Reiki and Massage.
