We work with Sound, Voice, Breath, Body and Reiki with individuals & groups to promote well-being. Music has played a significant role in Jane's life.

Sounds Like Healing, run by Jane Staffieri and Emily Foulkes, offers a range of services including group and one to one experiences which focus on the healing benefits of the voice, breath, movement, music and sound. She enjoyed 20 years of being a gigging singer in a Ska band in Bristol. Jane has spent her career seeing first hand the transformative power of music in her work with music charities. It is this experience plus her passion for helping others which has led Jane on this path. Jane has completed Levels 1 and 2 Diplomas in Sound Healing with the Sound Healing Academy (Approved training provider for International Institute for Complementay Therapists). Jane teaches Taiko drumming to children in Cornwall. She also provides one to one Music Mentoring for children and young people who have lived with Adverse Childhood Experiences. Jane and Emily are both Trauma and Mental Health Informed Practitioners. Emily grew up surrounded by music and the arts. She had classical singing lessons, took ballet up to Grade 7 and was involved in many dance groups. Emily has a degree in Performing Arts (dance) and has worked with music and the arts for over 20 years. Emily is a Reiki practitioner, qualified Massage Therapist (ITEC), Singing Leader for the British Lung Foundation and is has completed MA research on Singing for Health and Well-being. She has a particular interest in Singing for pain management and Mental Health and in the use of voice and singing for health and healing. Emily and Jane are both singers and run choirs and singing groups for adults, people suffering with lung conditions and for children and young people. They are both passionate about the power of sound and voice. Alongside group experiences and workshops, Jane and Emily offer individual treatments using Sound, Reiki and Massage. 💜 I’d (Emily) like to thank you for all the emails and messages over the past few weeks about our dear Jane 💜

Some of you were able to make it to her service and gathering on Friday 7th to celebrate and share love and grieve for her loss. Thank you for being there to share in such a remarkable event.

As part of Jane’s legacy and memorial, there will be a bench in Lostwithiel, by the river, along with some plants and shrubs in churchyards.

I would also like to plan a future project using sound and singing/voice work for those affected by war. I think this would be so very fitting for Jane’s memory as she was passionate about peace and justice.

Emily is heartbroken to share that we lost our beautiful Jane on Tuesday 7th October after a long illness. Not only professional partners, Emily and Jane were married 3 years and together for 16.

Jane was the heart of Sounds Like Healing, having found a passion, talent and deep connection to the power of sound and frequencies. Her desire to help people was strong throughout her life, and when she discovered sound healing, it was like coming home. This was what she was meant to be doing.

We have both gained so much in the 8 years of offering healing sessions, treatments and workshops in both Cornwall and Kent. It’s been a privilege to connect with this community and build firm friendships and relationships with you.

In Jane’s final few days, she was supported and comforted in a hospice. Emily was by her side. Tony and Jane from The Sound Healing Academy came to give Jane some gentle sound healing, which she found soothing.

Many of you have commented on our voices over the years. The last thing we sang together, in the hospice, was the Ganesha mantra - remover of obstacles, patron of new beginnings and God of wisdom. May this provide Jane with courage and purpose as she moves into her next stage.

In time, Emily may return to the work of Sounds Like Healing as a legacy for Jane and to continue sharing experiences with the community that has built since we began.

A celebration of Jane’s life will be held on Friday 7th November at 2pm in Lostwithiel, Cornwall. Details to follow.
