Not sure about you, but Autumn is my favourite season! 🍁

I love how colourful everything becomes with those shades of red and orange 🍂🍄🌰

It’s also the perfect time to bring a little of that autumn magic indoors with a DIY sensory bin. Sensory play is such a lovely way for children with additional needs to explore textures, colours, and sounds — while having fun!

Here’s an easy autumn sensory bin idea you can try at home:

🍂 Dried leaves (real or fabric)
🌰 Conkers / acorns (safe size or plastic versions)
🎃 Mini pumpkins (real, felt, or plastic)
🌽 Dried corn or pasta (painted in autumn shades)
🧺 Wooden spoons / scoops for digging and pouring
🦉 Small animal figures like owls, squirrels, or hedgehogs

💡 Tip: Adjust textures and items depending on your child’s sensory needs — keep it soft and soothing, or add crunchy/noisy items for more stimulation!

Autumn fun that’s engaging, inclusive, and easy to set up 🍁✨

Do you know about Conductive Education? 🌈

It’s a powerful, life-changing approach for children with developmental delays and motor challenges - combining movement, learning, and confidence building in a way that empowers both children and families. 💖

We’re so inspired by the work of Indila from Movement That Matters, who shared:

💬 “Conductive Education is a way of life! Through active participation, repetition, and a positive mindset, CE empowers children to take control of their movements and foster independence.”

Every child has their own unique way of communicating 🪞
..sometimes, it’s not through words but through play, movement, and connection 🌟

Over the summer holidays, there may be some activities you can try to boost confidence and practice for non-verbal children 🧡

We have added some ideas below!

🎵 Music time – sing, dance, or play instruments together
🎨 Creative play – painting, drawing, or building can spark expression
📚 Interactive stories – use props, puppets, or actions to bring books to life
🤹 Sensory fun – sand, water, or textured toys can inspire new ways to interact
🧸 Role play – pretend games help children explore feelings and ideas

Progress can be small and subtle, but every smile, gesture, or shared moment counts. 💛

I read about this recently and it was too inspiring to not share ✨

This is John McFall - Paralympian, surgeon, and now the first astronaut with a physical disability 🌍

After losing his leg in an accident at 19, John went on to win Paralympic medals, become a doctor, and inspire thousands. Now, he’s been cleared for a potential 6-month mission on the International Space Station 🛰👏

His message to others is... “Assume capability.”
Because when we believe in what’s possible, we can reach far beyond the stars 🌟

We have got 3 lovely animal characters to choose from 🐒 🐘 🦒

But why did we choose 3 animals?

✨ To give the child a choice
✨ To practice varying skills and grips
✨ To make it fun and change things up!

We cannot wait to introduce you to our cute characters! Which do you think will be your favourite?

Thank you to Movement That Matters for the photo! 💙

We’ve learned so much about dyspraxia lately, and we wanted to share a few facts that really stood out to us 🧡

It’s commonly misunderstood, and yet it affects so many children - often in ways that aren’t always visible. From coordination to confidence, dyspraxia can impact everyday life in ways that are hard to explain unless you’ve lived it.

But here’s the important part:
💫 Every child with dyspraxia is so much more than their diagnosis.
💫 Many go on to become amazing artists, athletes, creators and thinkers.
💫 Understanding is where real support begins.

If you’re a parent navigating this, you’re not alone. And if you’ve got tips, experiences or just want to say hi — we’d love to hear from you 💛

Let’s keep learning, sharing and supporting each other.
