On Remembrance Sunday morning, we got together to watch the service and remember all those who served and sacrificed for our country ❤️
During the week, our poppy craft sessions have been all about creating a beautiful remembrance display in the café. I think you will agree it looks quite stunning! ❤️

Our activity programme last week was as full as ever, and with live music from Eleanor Mattley too, the week was filled with happiness, sparkles, and fun for everyone! 🎶🎤
A huge thank you to Eleanor for giving us such a fabulous morning of music we love and can sing along to. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves; smiling, clapping, and even having a little dance! 💃 🙌
We absolutely loved it! 👏🥰

Anyone for tea? We've had the fine china out for an afternoon of tea delights!
It was a fabulous tea afternoon when we tried something new with a tasting session, and taking a knowledge test with our tea quiz! 🫖
Head chef Lucy also educated us about the new Care UK specialised teas now available in our homes, including how they are made and approved for special dietary requirements with thickeners to assist with swallowing 🫖
We also learned more about the 5 categories of tea, including black, white, green, pu-erh and oolang 🫖
As well as our standard teas we serve, including Earl Grey, green, ginger and lemon, fruit, decaf etc, we were keen to try new different varieties, and then the ultimate…. special pudding flavoured teas! We got the chance to smell, taste and guess the flavour – was it sticky toffee pudding or bread and butter pudding tea?
What a fun and interesting experience for everyone - who knew there was so much to know about tea! 🫖

We always look forward to our exercise sessions with Hannah from Boogie Beatz!💪
Hannah gets us all having fun stretching, flexing and coordinating our bodies to some great tunes to get us all moving! 🎶
Movement and flexibility is very important whatever your age, and our regular sessions give us the great opportunity to get together for some fun, laughter and exercise all rolled into one!
We love it... yes, we really do!! 🙌 🩷

🕷️🐍 We met some beasts at Halloween! 🦎🦂
On Halloween morning, we had a creepy, but fascinating time meeting some amazing creatures, thanks to Stuart from Meet The Beasts!
Stuart treated us to a very informative 'show and tell', featuring a corn snake, gecko, tarantula and a scorpion. Everyone loved learning all about these fantastic creatures — and we even had the chance to get up close and handle most of them! 🐍🦎🦂
We all got a great close-up of the beautiful, elegant tarantula who stayed safely in her enclosure, and for anyone feeling a little unsure, it was the perfect opportunity to face your fears and discover just how fascinating and beautiful these creatures really are 🕷️
What a great experience too, for the Rawlins Academy students who enjoyed meeting the beautiful beasts! 🤗
A huge thank you to Stuart for such an enjoyable and educational visit from the mini-beasts - we loved it! 👏

Thank you too, to the students of Rawlins Academy for helping us get the cafe party-ready with the fabulous decorations!

Goulish Sally took her sweet treats and buckets of tricks for a fun visit to everyone. Put your hand into the buckets of unknown and guess the grewsome gooey objects …cold spaghetti, porridge, tomato pulp, hair and jelly!! 🎃
Thank you to all our visitors for being such great sports too! 👍

Our stunning new care home in Quorn will provide a range of quality care services for older people in luxurious surroundings.
Lonsdale Mews is a brand new care home that will open in September 2020. Located on Farley Way, on the outskirts of the village of Quorn, with beauty spots of Swithland Woods and Bradgate Park close by and only a few minutes from the centre of Loughborough and close to junction 23 of the M1. Our new care home has 64 rooms and will provide completely personalised residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent and short-term (respite) basis. Our skilled team will get to know your loved one’s needs, interests and preferences so that we can shape all aspects of their care and experiences at the home to suit them.
Relax in beautiful surroundings
The emphasis at Lonsdale Mews will be on enabling your loved one to continue to enjoy a wonderful lifestyle. The home will have its own cinema room, hair and beauty salon; plus an inviting café where residents and visitors will be free to help themselves to a freshly brewed coffee or speciality tea, as well as a slice of homemade cake. Each of the bedrooms will be individually-styled and beautifully furnished, with an en-suite wet room. Your loved one will be welcome to personalise their room, and, if they enjoy access to an outside space, our ground floor rooms will open onto their own patios.
Meaningful activity every day
Your loved one will be supported to continuing doing all the things they love, from gardening to baking, quizzes to music, gentle exercise to regular outings. We believe in supporting people to be as independent as possible, so if your loved one wishes to help around the home or to continue going to a church or group in the local community; we’ll support them too. Of course, they may just want to enjoy a film in the cinema, or a pamper session in the salon - we’ll respect their choices and give them our full support.
