🎶 The Music That Holds Our Memories 🎶

Music has a powerful way of holding memories. A single song can take us back to a moment, a voice, a smile - helping us feel close to those we love, even in their absence.

At Loughborough Crematorium, families often choose music that tells a story - of a life lived, a personality remembered, or a bond that never fades.

Recently, we have heard beautiful and meaningful pieces such as:

Time To Say Goodbye - Andrea Bocelli & Sarah Brightman

Fields of Gold - Sting

Songbird - Eva Cassidy

Wind Beneath My Wings - Bette Midler

Each choice is deeply personal, and every note played becomes part of a lasting farewell and a cherished remembrance.

If there is a piece of music that reminds you of someone special, you are welcome to share it in the comments. Your memories may bring comfort to others.

Valentine’s Update 💕

Following our recent post, during the weekend our Valentine’s remembrance items can be found on the bench next to the roses.

You are welcome to take a wooden heart decoration or heart-shaped candle, and place a rose in memory of your loved one, or keep them close in whatever way feels right for you.

Welcoming Our Business Leader, Tom

We’re pleased to introduce Tom, who joins us as our Business Leader here at Loughborough Crematorium.

Having worked alongside our grounds team a few years ago, Tom already has an excellent knowledge of the site and a strong understanding of the care and attention it requires. He brings with him a commitment to service, compassion, and supporting both families and our team. He is looking forward to meeting more of the families and funeral directors we work alongside.

A little about Tom:

How long have you worked within the funeral industry?
10 years. I began as Head Groundsman at Counties Crematorium before progressing to Business Leader.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Playing or watching football, tending to my allotment, or walking the dog - who you may even spot in the grounds from time to time.

What is your favourite place within the crematorium gardens?
Standing on the memorial bridge overlooking the water feature and watching the wildlife around the grounds.

Our focus remains what it has always been -providing a professional, respectful, and supportive environment for everyone who comes through our doors.

Please join us in giving Tom a warm welcome.

💗Valentine’s Day - A Moment to Remember💗

From tomorrow morning, complimentary artificial roses are available for families and visitors. You are welcome to place a rose on your loved one’s resting place, or keep it close in remembrance.

We have also prepared small wooden heart decorations and heart-shaped candles, free to take and keep in whatever way feels right for you.

These can be found in our Book of Remembrance Room, where you will also find a remembrance tree with heart tags. You are invited to write the name of a loved one and hang it with love.

Roses and keepsakes will be available while supplies last. We kindly ask that families take one per loved one so as many people as possible can share in this gesture.

A gentle moment to pause, reflect, and remember. 💗

Our grounds offer space not only for reflection, but for nature too 🕊️🌿

When you next visit us look out for:

- Tweeting birds in their nests
- Green buds starting to appear
- Foxes, squirrels, butterflies, and other passing wildlife
- Sunlight dancing through the tree branches (we can hope for sun at least!)

We're so proud to have such a peaceful setting here, where remembrance and nature exist side by side 💛

🌧️ A Gentle Notice for Visitors 🌧️

Due to the recent heavy rainfall, parts of the Gardens of Remembrance are currently experiencing flooding. Some pathways are waterlogged and may be slippery underfoot.

We kindly ask all visitors to take extra care when walking through the gardens and to use caution around flooded areas.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep everyone safe. ❤️

Our gardens are full of stories. ❤️ Every corner of our memorial grounds holds hundreds of lives remembered.

Each plaque, every memorial garden and all of the dedicated roses - they are a quiet reflection of love, loss, and legacy.

To hold that space for so many stories is our greatest privilege.

Delicately crafted and a beautiful, intricate floral design 🩷🍃

These urns and keepsakes, finished in soft pastel tones, offer a quiet and personal option for remembrance.

The larger urn is suitable for a full set of ashes, while the smaller urn is designed to hold a portion, making it a gentle choice when several family members wish to have a keepsake of their own. The heart keepsake allows space for a small token of ashes or a lock of hair - a simple, meaningful way to keep someone close.

This is just one of many carefully considered memorial options, created to rest peacefully in a home or another place that feels right. We have a variety of other beautifully designed options available too. If you would like to see any other designs don't hesitate to contact us. We'd be honoured to support you. 🩷
