The Wolds Care Centre provides Nursing, Residential and Specialist Dementia care to older people and their loved ones.

We are extremely proud to hold the ‘Gold Standard Framework’ accredition in End of Life Care.

We are relaunching our 'Employee of the month', however we will be running this differently. Instead of monthly we will hold a quarterly 'Wolds Lottery' where nominated staff will be put forward, assessing them against a range of criteria. The prize will be a £75 voucher which can be spent on our HAPI app where we have lots of discounts and savings in a range of shops. 🎉🛍

Feedback from family, visiting professionals and other staff will still be considered. Please use the feedback slips provided in our reception area and post in the comments box.
We appreciate the hard work our dedicated team at The Wolds put in and want to recognise this. 🙌🌟

We will be rolling this out in December, holding our draw on the 10th which means vouchers will be ready for Christmas 🎅

❤️ Remembrance Sunday ❤️

Today, our home came together to honour those who served and sacrificed.
Residents and staff observed a 2-minute silence, reflecting with respect and gratitude. 🌹

A few of our residents and staff also attended the Remembrance Parade in town, proudly paying tribute alongside our local community.

We will remember them. 🌺

🎆✨ Fireworks Night Fun! ✨🎆

Our residents had a wonderful time watching the fireworks display — full of colour, smiles, and lots of “oohs” and “aahs.”

A huge thank you to Dean and Ossie for putting on such a fantastic display! 🙌💥

We also want to thank the family members who brought along their instruments — their music kept everyone entertained and added to the excitement! 🎶💛

And of course, our amazing kitchen team treated everyone to delicious burgers and hotdogs to keep us warm and happy. 🌭🍔

A truly lovely night for all! 🥰

🎆 Fireworks Notice 🎆

To our lovely neighbours — just a quick message to let you know that we will be having a small firework display this evening between 5pm and 6pm for our residents to enjoy.

🎃🕸️ Halloween Party Fun! 🕸️🎃

What a fantastic afternoon we had celebrating Halloween! Staff, residents, and guests all enjoyed dressing up in their spooky best. 👻✨

Our pumpkin carving competition was a real highlight — staff and residents all took part and the creativity was incredible! After a very close contest, the winner was Jess, one of our amazing carers! 🎉🎃

We also enjoyed a selection of Halloween games that brought out everyone’s competitive side, and some delicious party food to finish off the fun! 🍂🧡

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day magical and memorable!

🎃👻 Getting Ready for Halloween! 👻🎃

Our residents had a spooktacular afternoon getting into the Halloween spirit! 🕸️
The kitchen team baked some delicious biscuits, and everyone enjoyed decorating them in true Halloween style — with plenty of icing and laughter all around! 🍪🧡

🌾🍎 Harvest Celebrations at TWCC 🍎🌾

Over the past few weeks, our home has been full of harvest spirit with lots of wonderful activities and celebrations! 💛

🎃 We held a Scarecrow Competition, with each unit and department creating their own fantastic entries — congratulations to our Activities and Domestics teams, who were crowned this year’s winners! 👏

🙏 We have also enjoyed lovely Harvest Festival Services, joined by friends from the Methodist Church and the Church of England, who helped us give thanks for the season and all its blessings.

👧🧒 A special thank you to the children from Greenwich School, who visited and kindly donated some of the produce from their own harvest festival — such a thoughtful gesture that meant so much to our residents.

🎨 And of course, our residents have had great fun making autumn decorations to brighten up the home, adding a wonderful seasonal touch everywhere you look. 🍂

It’s been a joyful few weeks celebrating harvest, community, and togetherness.

💛 World Mental Health Day 💛

Today, our residents and staff joined together to show their support for World Mental Health Day by wearing something yellow — a colour that represents hope, positivity, and happiness. 🌼

It was wonderful to see so many smiles and bright outfits around the home, all helping to raise awareness and remind everyone how important it is to look after our mental well-being. 💛

✨🏰 HICA Shine Ball 2025 – Disney Magic! 🏰✨

Some of our residents and staff had a truly magical day at this year’s HICA Shine Ball, where the theme was Disney! 🌟

Our chosen theme was Pocahontas, and everyone had so much fun getting ready — from choosing outfits to adding those special finishing touches. Residents loved the atmosphere at the ball and enjoyed celebrating alongside friends from other HICA care homes. 💃🕺

To top off a wonderful afternoon, we were thrilled to win the HICA in Bloom Garden Challenge! 🌸🏆 A huge well done to everyone who helped make our garden such a beautiful space.

🥐✨ Baking & Button Crafts! ✨🥐

Our residents had a fantastic day getting creative in the kitchen and the craft room! 👩‍🍳🎨

They rolled up their sleeves to bake their own delicious sausage rolls – the smell alone had everyone smiling (and hungry!). Afterwards, it was time for some button crafting, with plenty of colour, creativity, and chatter along the way.

A wonderful day of fun, laughter, and making memories together. 💛

🌞🚐 Adventures with our Residents! 🚐🌞

We’ve been busy lately with some lovely trips out and about! 💛

🌾 First stop was Abby’s Farm, where residents learned all about the harvest, crops, and how they’re used. Afterwards, we popped into the Peppercorn Café for a well-earned cuppa — though we had quite the adventure when the lift broke! The wonderful fire brigade came to the rescue, and our residents handled it all with big smiles.

🌊 Next, we enjoyed a trip to the North Sea Observatory Café in Chapel St Leonards. A seafront stroll and a hot drink made for a perfect day out.

🕰️ Finally, we visited Vintage Lincs & Bentley’s Coffee Shop. Residents browsed beautiful antiques (with a few treasures brought home!), enjoyed a blast from the past setting, a lovely drink, and even a little singalong on the piano. 🎶

So many happy memories made together! 💐

🔢🎉 August Challenge: Numbers! 🎉🔢

Last month, our residents had a fantastic time exploring the world of numbers through fun games and activities! From Connect 4, dominoes, cards, to painting by numbers, there was something for everyone to enjoy. 🃏🎲

We even had number-themed singalongs, filling the home with laughter, music, and lots of smiles. It’s amazing how much fun learning and playing with numbers can be! 💛
