🔔🔔 ARE YOU STRUGGLING WITH DRIVING DURING THE WINTER MONTHS 🚗🚘🚙🚕

👀👀……As the days are shorter, individual’s with low vision face challenges at night. A condition called night blindness (Nyctalopia). This can be caused by underlying issues such as Cataracts, Myopia (near sightedness) or Astigmatism. Or are you just struggling with the Led & Xenon headlights.

👀👀……Dry Eye or other surface problems on the Cornea can scatter light and cause glare.
👀👀……Conditions like Diabetes or Vitamin A deficiency can impact vision

🌜🌜…For Safer Night Driving, make an appointment with your Optician so that a professional can determine the cause & recommend solutions which may include:

👀 An up to date prescription with an Anti-Reflection coating or one of our specially designed driving lenses.

👀 Using lubricating eye drops if you have dry eyes as a healthy tear layer is crucial for clear vision.

🚘🚙 To drive more safely it is essential to keep your window screen & spectacles clean & ensure your headlights are working properly. 🚘🚙

👀 Your eyes tell a bigger story than you think.
Regular eye exams do far more than check if you need new glasses—they can detect early signs of conditions like glaucoma, diabetes, high blood pressure, and macular degeneration before symptoms even appear.

Most vision changes happen gradually and can be easy to miss. A routine test ensures you’re seeing clearly and that your overall eye health is protected.

✨ Book your eye test today and give your eyes the care they deserve.

💙 World Diabetes Day Friday 14th November 💙

Today we are raising awareness of the important connection between diabetes and eye health.

Diabetes can increase your risk of diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and cataracts, but with regular eye examinations these conditions can often be detected early and managed effectively.

At Louth Vision Centre, we use advanced OCT scanning technology to take detailed 3D images of the back of your eyes. This allows us to detect even the smallest changes to your retina long before you notice any symptoms.

Our Eyeplan care scheme makes it easy and affordable to have regular eye health checks including OCT scans whenever you need them.

If you have diabetes, make sure to have your eyes examined at least once a year. Your vision is precious and deserves the best care.

🐙 🐳”AN OCEAN OF STORIES” 🌊🦀

BIG THANKYOU ❤️ To this brother & sister for modelling their Miyosmart glasses they collected from us just in time for Children’s Book Week ❤️

📚 A child’s vision is crucial for reading, as approximately 80% of learning is visual. This is essential for building confidence ✨ and overall wellbeing ❤️

👀 Vision problems can hinder reading influence and comprehension.
Signs like head tilting and holding a page too close along with avoiding books are sometimes an indication.

📚 How can vision impact reading?

🤓 Visual acuity:
Clear vision at every distance is necessary for 📖 reading books 🖥️ looking at screens 🏫 and seeing the board at school.

👀 Eye Focusing:
Eyes must be able to shift and focus quickly between near and far objects.

📖 Eye tracking:
👀 Eyes need to move together smoothly to track from word to word without losing their place.

📚 Reading comprehension :
A deficiency in any of these visual skills can make it hard to understand and remember what has been read.

⛔️🪧 Signs to look out for!

👀 Holding book close
👀 Tilting head or closing one eye
👀 Losing place whilst reading
👀 Eye strain, headaches and frequent eye rubbing
👀 Difficulties with hand eye co-ordination
👀 Blurred or double vision
👀 Avoiding reading

🤔 If you notice any signs, Scheduling regular eye exams to detect any visual problems early can help an eyecare professional determine if glasses or visual therapy could help reading be easier and more enjoyable. 📚
