Home Instead - East Hampshire and Midhurst

Home Instead - East Hampshire and Midhurst Providing support and care for people in their own homes in East Hampshire These values are evident in all that we do and remain at the heart of our practices.

We are in the privileged position to be offering the local community the highest quality personalised care, in Alton, Petersfield, Hindhead and surrounding areas. We support and enhance the lives of people within the comfort and security of their own homes. Our focus at Home Instead is entirely centred around the people and relatives whom we support. We take great pride in doing things differently, especially in the compassion and warmth of our dedicated team of CAREGivers, which is reflected by the quality of care they deliver and also in offering hour visits as a minimum to ensure that the needs of our clients are fully met. The underlying essence and commitment of the service we offer is to afford total flexibility and individual consideration for the needs and requirements of our clients. Our aim is to promote independence and dignity for our clients through identifying their own specific needs and aspirations through a variety of care and support options. We can provide an endless choice of non-medical care which could include: companionship, meal preparation, assisting with home tasks or paying bills, medication reminders or making appointments, trips or visits, continuation of hobbies and interests, attending clubs, recording family history or enjoying watching classic films………it is a very personal choice. When Personal Care is required, then our CAREGivers can offer support in all aspects of an individuals’ personal needs – from short-term support when returning home from hospital stays to caring for long term conditions with more complex and specialised needs. Our CAREGivers are trained specialists in Dementia and Alzheimer’s Care. They receive regular and ongoing training to keep up to date with developments in the management and support of these conditions. We work closely to support families who are faced with the challenges associated with a relative being diagnosed with dementia. As a fundamentally significant part of this support we offer free and comprehensive training for family members in this situation.

💡 Did You Know?
At Home Instead, we don’t just assign Care Professionals—we match them. We take time to pair each client with someone who suits their personality, interests, and care needs.

Because when the match is right, care feels more like connection—and that makes all the difference.

This Men's Health Awareness Month, let's tackle a common challenge…encouraging the men in our local community to open up about their health.

Subtle changes in mood, routine, or physical health can often be missed, but early detection is key. We can help you start that all-important care conversation.

Our local Care Pros are specially trained to build trusted relationships, which allows them to better spot the early signs and encourage early action, ensuring symptoms are addressed sooner.

Remember, Remember…. Safety this Bonfire Night!

As fireworks light up the sky tonight, the noise and cold can cause unexpected distress for many older people in our community. This year, help keep your loved ones comfortable and secure by taking these simple steps:
💥 Muffle the noise: Close windows and draw curtains before it gets dark to minimise the startling bangs and flashes
💥 Stay warm: Ensure warm clothes are layered up, and hot, comfortable drinks are on hand
💥Offer comfort: Provide reassuring company or a distracting activity if the noise causes anxiety, especially for those with dementia.

We're here to offer long term support that provides safety and peace of mind all winter long. Planning for winter peace of mind? Contact us this week to discuss a consistent, safe care routine.

Pumpkins aren’t just for carving—they’re packed with goodness! Rich in vitamins, easy to digest, and perfect for soups, bakes, and gentle snacks.

🎃 Looking after someone? Try a simple pumpkin mash or a warming soup with a dash of cinnamon. Because seasonal treats can be nourishing too.

💬 Got a favourite autumn recipe? We’d love to hear it!

Lianne took Colin on a little adventure this week—a ride aboard the Watercress Line steam train. The sun was out, the countryside was glowing, and the whistle of the engine brought back memories of days gone by.

It wasn’t just a train ride—it was a chance to slow down, share stories, and enjoy something special together. These are the moments that matter most.

Thanks to the The Watercress Line team for helping make it such a lovely day.
