Tim Box is the creator of The CONTROL System. The CONTROL System is a method of mind management and personal development that enables the user to create dynamic shifts in patterns of thought and behaviour. The system was developed from Tim's years of experience as a remedial hypnotist and is the culmination of the learnings from 1000s of 1-2-1 client sessions

Tim is based in Kent in the south east of England. He runs a full time practice from his own rural retreat clinic in the Kent countryside as well as teaching the practitioners how to use his method. Tim is an active public speaker and regularly lectures and presents on mindset and mind management methods. The issues Tim uses the CONTROL system to treat include:

What Anxiety Recovery ACTUALLY Looks Like...

If you’re trying to recover from an anxiety issue, you’re probably imagining some kind of magical moment:

A breakthrough...
A release...
A morning where you wake up and think, “That’s it. I’m fixed.”

But what if recovery doesn’t look dramatic at all?

What if...contrary to all your expectations...recovery is something you don't even notice.

One of the principles I talk about with clients is this:
Innocence → Experience → Understanding.

We all start in innocence. We feel relatively calm, not because we’re stronger, but because we haven’t yet been shaken by life in a way that makes us question ourselves.

Then comes experience. Something happens. Anxiety ramps up. And eventually we stop worrying about life… and start worrying about how anxious we feel.
That’s when the anxiety loop begins: I feel anxious and I then get anxious about feeling that way.

Most people I see have been spending a lot of time and energy trying to go backwards...back to how they felt before anxiety became the big bad thing.

But unfortunately, time only travels in one direction and we can't simply undo what we've experienced.

But the good news is that recovery isn’t about going backwards.

It’s about moving forwards into a place of understanding.

Understanding that anxiety is not a malfunction...
Not a life sentence...
Not something that needs constant monitoring.

And here’s the interesting part: when you reach understanding, life starts to look surprisingly similar to innocence again.

Not because anxiety has vanished forever.

But because you’ve stopped looking for it.

So…here’s something interesting I’ve noticed over the years when talking to trained hypnotherapists.

Most don’t struggle because they lack techniques.
They struggle because, at times, they’re still unsure of their process.

They’ve done the training.

They’re seeing clients.

But sessions can still feel harder than expected, and there’s that quiet internal question of:

“Am I doing this right?”

They train in additional techniques thinking this will fill their knowledge gap.
But their knowledge was never the problem…it was their faith in themselves to know what to do in REAL sessions with REAL people.

If that resonates, I’m running a free live online seminar on Thursday for trained hypnotherapists where I’ll be talking about:

• Why this uncertainty is so common
• Why more techniques don’t usually resolve it
• And what actually helps client work feel calmer and more settled

This isn’t a technique-heavy training and it’s not aimed at existing CONTROL Practitioners who already know this stuff.

First of all, let me wish everyone a very Happy New Year!

Second of all, let me tell you about something I'm very excited about that I'm going to be doing this month starting from today.

I've decided that to help make 2026 the most anxiety free year yet for as many people as possible I'm going to be going live on my YouTube channel EVERY DAY for the first 26 days of 2026 to answer anxiety related questions and give out as much advice as I can.

I'll be starting today (of course - it's the 1st) at 6pm UK time.
Not only will I be answering questions that have been left on my videos for the last few weeks, but I'll also be answering questions live in the room from those that join live.

I often hear people tell me they've tried every method under the sun to try and get a grip on anxiety.

But did you realise the way you talk about it is super important?

It not only reveals your belief system surrounding anxiety, but it also programmes how you respond to it….

…and it might just be the reason that nothing is currently changing.

Saying things like "I have anxiety" or "my fear is irrational" might seem accurate, but it's actually contributing to keeping you stuck:
Stuck feeling how you currently feel;
Stuck thinking how you currently think.

In my latest video I reveal the five ways that people unwittingly hold themselves back, and explain a better way to talk about anxiety that can help people get the other side of it as quickly as possible.
