So…here’s something interesting I’ve noticed over the years when talking to trained hypnotherapists.

Most don’t struggle because they lack techniques.
They struggle because, at times, they’re still unsure of their process.

They’ve done the training.

They’re seeing clients.

But sessions can still feel harder than expected, and there’s that quiet internal question of:

“Am I doing this right?”

They train in additional techniques thinking this will fill their knowledge gap.
But their knowledge was never the problem…it was their faith in themselves to know what to do in REAL sessions with REAL people.

If that resonates, I’m running a free live online seminar on Thursday for trained hypnotherapists where I’ll be talking about:

• Why this uncertainty is so common
• Why more techniques don’t usually resolve it
• And what actually helps client work feel calmer and more settled

This isn’t a technique-heavy training and it’s not aimed at existing CONTROL Practitioners who already know this stuff.

Second of all, let me tell you about something I'm very excited about that I'm going to be doing this month starting from today.

I've decided that to help make 2026 the most anxiety free year yet for as many people as possible I'm going to be going live on my YouTube channel EVERY DAY for the first 26 days of 2026 to answer anxiety related questions and give out as much advice as I can.

I'll be starting today (of course - it's the 1st) at 6pm UK time.
Not only will I be answering questions that have been left on my videos for the last few weeks, but I'll also be answering questions live in the room from those that join live.

I often hear people tell me they've tried every method under the sun to try and get a grip on anxiety.

But did you realise the way you talk about it is super important?

It not only reveals your belief system surrounding anxiety, but it also programmes how you respond to it….

…and it might just be the reason that nothing is currently changing.

Saying things like "I have anxiety" or "my fear is irrational" might seem accurate, but it's actually contributing to keeping you stuck:
Stuck feeling how you currently feel;
Stuck thinking how you currently think.

In my latest video I reveal the five ways that people unwittingly hold themselves back, and explain a better way to talk about anxiety that can help people get the other side of it as quickly as possible.

Anxiety Control Cohorts.

After much deliberation and a great deal of work (and the small matter of 15 years experience of working 1-2-1 with clients to help them overcome their anxiety issues) I've finally created a model that allows me to work with groups of clients at a time to help them overcome anxiety once and for all.

The Anxiety Control Cohort will be an intimate group (limited to 6 people), working with me over a three month period to learn how to get full control of anxiety and maintain that control.

It will include:

* 2 Initial online Training Days with me (total of 8 hrs) with training manual included.
* Three monthly follow up support forums with me (2 hrs each time).
* A 20-30 page pdf of anxiety insights.
* An understanding anxiety video series.
* The full CONTROL System tutorial video series.

The process of learning self change in this way is one I've been running with Practitioner Trainees for nearly 10 years, so I know this works. However the level of anxiety specific resources and ongoing support being given in this group is on a level I've not gone to before.
I'm excited to open up a whole new way of helping clients.

RIP Trance

When I first started out as a hypnotherapist, about 15 years ago I attended a lot of courses, and was often taught (and believed) that depth of trance was a key factor at play in getting the best results for my clients.

However, for a number of reasons this just didn't ring true for me. I strongly suspected that trance wasn't as important as it was made out to be, and in fact that it might even be completely redundant.

I took a leap of faith and formulated a system that whilst still incorporating direct phenomena based hypnosis, didn't require any formal induction, hypnotic language patterns or the need to go 'deeper' into some kind of trance. In fact the client didn't even need to close their eyes.

My results didn't only remain just as good...they actually improved.

Not only that but I was enjoying my work more and my clients felt more empowered to make their own changes in the future.

More than a decade later and I now train other hypnotherapists (and those that would like to become one) in my method that I call The CONTROL System.

Over the last few years I've trained and qualified almost 150 CONTROL Practitioners throughout the world and the vast majority of them would never go back to working with a drawn out, old fashioned trance model.

At the end of this week I'll be running a FREE ONLINE 90 minute taster seminar for those that would like to understand more about how we use hypnosis without any trance and how CONTROL Practitioners get such good results.
