Creative expression.

Unfortunately too many people get put off being creative after being marked and judged at school.

Creativity can be a great outlet for feelings that can't easily be translated into words.

I did this a few weeks ago when I was feeling a bit overwhelmed, I started in the middle with a swirl and it built from there.

My issue with creativity can be perfectionism so it can be a challenge for me to create something without judgement!

Spending time in nature is so restorative and therapeutic. Whilst i know clients get benefits from our outside sessions i wanted to know how to facilitate a more intentional connection to nature ๐Ÿ’š

These cards were recommended in a counselling group.

Sometimes counselling is about getting back in touch with ourselves and our values. I'm hoping these cards can be a helpful resource for people to have some guidance on what's important to them. Giving simple ideas in how to prioritise and practice what matters most ๐Ÿฆ‹

I'll also be using them personally ๐Ÿ˜Š

It grew!

I'd given up on my acorn because the shoot had gotten stuck in the glass. It was abandoned up on the high shelf for months. Did a bit of dusting and couldn't believe my eyes ๐Ÿ˜

Just need to pot it up in the garden ready to find the perfect place to plant it ๐Ÿ’š

'A study using functional neuroimaging (fMRI) found lower activation of the brain structure that signals fear and threat (the amygdala) after a 60-minute walk in a natural environment compared to an urban environment. This finding was associated with reports of feeling โ€œrestoredโ€ and having improved attention. Another fMRI study found decreased blood flow in the prefrontal cortex, which correlated with self-reports of decreased โ€œrumination,โ€ after a 90-minute nature walk compared with an urban walk. These studies are just scratching the surface; I expect much more discovery on the neural correlates of improved well-being in the next few years.'

This is just a snippet about why being in nature is SO beneficial for us, especially if we experience anxiety and depression.
