With just 2 weeks to the big day we wanted to let you all know about the arrangements for appointments over Christmas and the New Year.

From Christmas Eve to New Years Eve, there will be no pre-bookable appointments. This means that should you be unwell on the days we are available (24th / 29th / 30th / 31st December) you will need to ring on the day for your appointment.

The only pre-bookable appointments on the above days will be with our Practice Nurse team who need to pre-book dressings and long-term conditions around Christmas to help patients plan and if you are off work you can come in for your checks.

We appreciate your understanding with this change over the Christmas Period, this also allows the surgery to give time to the GPs to celebrate the festivities with their families.

Please make sure that you have enough medication over the Christmas and New Year period.

This year the holiday weekend is 4 days (Thursday 25 / Friday 26 and then Saturday and Sunday). Your apps do not allow you to order your medication until 7 days before you run out. With the holiday weekend being a long weekend please ensure that you have this request into us as soon as you can via your app or in writing to the surgery.

The following week - we will only be closed on the Thursday so this will be a little easier but if you can get your request into us as soon as you can so you do not run low over the holiday period this would be most appreciated.

The surgery is now closed for the weekend.

Should you need assistance over the weekend please choose the correct service for you.

Remember there are lots of colds and things going around at this time of the year but the Pharmacy can always help you with these. If they are unable to then they will ask you to contact NHS 111.

The hospital is for life threatening events or if you need a test that can only be done at a hospital i.e., x-ray a broken bone.

The surgery hopes that you do not need any of the above and have a wonderful weekend.

Who is joining Lisa and Sam on their Final Wellbeing walk of 2025 around Oulton Broad.

They will be starting at the Banksy bridge at 2pm today and having a leisurely walk around the park and the obligatory cuppa will be involved. Knowing our girls there will be some festivities for you or surprise them and bring your own Christmassy festivity for them to join in too.

Please join the girls and enjoy your last walk of 2025. The surgery thank all the patients that make these walks as successful as they are, a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. 🎄☃🎅🎁

💡 Did you know? Green phlegm or snot doesn’t always mean you need antibiotics!
Most coughs and colds are caused by viruses, and antibiotics won’t help. Overusing antibiotics can lead to resistance, making infections harder to treat in the future.
✅ What to do instead:

Rest and stay hydrated
Honey and lemon drinks can soothe your throat
Paracetamol for fever or pain

🚨 Seek urgent help if you have:

Difficulty breathing
Chest pain
