If you’re starting to experience upper back pain between your shoulder blades, also known as interscapular pain, you’ll be noticing a feeling of constant dull ache on one or both sides, this suggests that you are overstretching the muscles of the upper back.

If you decide it’s not that bad yet, think again, it will get worse if you leave it – take a break and whilst the kettle is boiling for your morning or afternoon brew try a few simple stretches.

You might think you’re getting headaches because sewing is causing eye strain; however, sitting at the sewing machine for long periods and craning your neck can actually put strain on the neck muscles, which in turn can lead to headaches.

Office chairs with poor fit and support can cause poor circulation to the legs, muscle tightness, and posture issues.

Sitting for long periods in an ergonomically unsuitable position strains the lower back, hips, and shoulders, disrupting natural alignment.

Realistically, few of us take the breaks we should, so posture problems are almost inevitable — I often see a line of congestion across the back of the hamstrings where the seat of the chair cuts into the thigh - hampering circulation.

Regular sports massage can help by improving circulation, easing tension, and restoring balance to overworked muscles.

How often do you drive a long distance and climb out of the car feeling stiff and sore?

Even vehicles with lumbar support — which is definitely a step in the right direction — are still designed as one-size-fits-all, meaning the support may not align with your specific needs.

I’m on a mission this week to highlight just how unforgiving our chairs can be. Office chairs, dining chairs and car seats are notorious for cutting off circulation, encouraging poor posture, and causing discomfort.

Are yoga stretches good for tight hamstrings?
