Type 2 diabetes doesn’t happen overnight — it develops gradually over time.⁣
⁣
🔄 What happens in the body?⁣
• Cells stop responding properly to insulin (this is called insulin resistance)⁣
• The pancreas produces more and more insulin⁣
• Over time, it can’t keep up — blood sugar levels rise⁣

Yesterday, March 20th, felt like a true welcome to spring 🌸

“When spring arrives, everything whispers: begin again.”

I had the pleasure of joining a Restorative Yoga Retreat with Fiona and a beautiful sound bath therapy session with Jeremy… and it was simply magical ✨

Fiona, as always, created such a gentle, nurturing space – her session felt like being softly held after a long winter. And Jeremy guided us through an incredible sound journey – light, soothing, yet deeply awakening something within.

I could feel everything inside me becoming brighter, lighter… like my body and mind remembering how to breathe again. Exactly what we need during this spring shift 🌿

Because spring isn’t just a change of season… it’s a reminder that we, too, are allowed to begin again.

With more softness.
With more hope.
With an open heart, ready to feel alive again 💛

One month later, and I am still incredibly honoured to have received the Foot Health Practitioner of the Year 2025 award from The SMAE Institute. 🏆

This recognition means a great deal to me as it reflects the trust and support of my patients and our local community. Providing high-quality, evidence-based foot health care and continuing to develop my clinical knowledge will always remain my priority.

🌸 International Women’s Day 🌸⁣⁣

Today is a special moment to reflect on the incredible journey of women through history.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
More than a century ago, women around the world were fighting for basic rights — 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐞. In 1908 thousands of women marched through New York, protesting against long hours, low pay and unsafe workplaces.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Just a few years later, in 1911, the tragic Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in New York took the lives of 146 workers, mostly young women. The doors had been locked while they worked. This heartbreaking event shocked the world and strengthened the movement fighting for 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Thanks to the courage of those women, history began to change.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
In 𝐔𝐊 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧 1918, and in 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 1918, becoming one of the first countries in Europe to do so.⁣⁣
