There is still time to book for our Spring Dining Divas! Join us at The Palais des Vaches, Exbury, on Wednesday 18th March, with guest speaker Nick de Rothschild.

During the Covid lockdown, Nick and wife Caroline developed their vision for an art gallery, The Palais des Vaches, created from a derelict milking parlour in the farm at Lower Exbury. Inspired by nature, Nick's prints include images of kelp washed up on a South African beach, African birds and wildlife, the blooms of Exbury Gardens.

Visit our website to view the options for our two course lunch menu. Book your tickets now at https://www.oakhavenhospice.co.uk/diningdivas/

New data from Hospice UK reveals that gifts in wills are the lifeline keeping the nation’s hospices open, funding the equivalent of 400,000 nights of hospice care in the UK every year. Without this support, 30,000 nights of hospice care every month could disappear - that's 7,500 every week.

The importance of hospice care is undeniable, with UK hospices having supported 310,000 people facing terminal illness last year alone – and demand for palliative care is set to jump by 25% by 2048.

At Oakhaven, we're here for and powered by our community, whether it's a partner learning how to provide care at home, children processing grief, neighbours and friends discovering how to help. Gifts in Wills help to make all of this possible.

As a charity, only 11% of our funding is covered by the NHS; for the remaining 89 per cent, we rely on the generosity of our community. Last year, gifts left in wills to Oakhaven covered the cost of care for one in four of our patients.

Your generous legacy gifts ensure that vital support is there, not just for the person who is receiving hospice care, but for everyone around them, now and for generations to come.

February is

Employers can make an even bigger difference to their employees' payroll donations with Matched Giving!

Matched Giving (or Match Funding) is a powerful way to encourage your employees to sign up for Payroll Giving. Your company has the option to boost an employee’s donations – this can be like for like, or you might prefer to donate a set amount per employee. You can also choose to donate a one-off amount when employees sign up. This additional gift is then added to your employees’ donations. Giving them an extra incentive to start Payroll Giving and make their charitable donations go further.

The Oakhaven garden is in bloom! New flowers are beginning to open every day. The trees are bursting into blossom, and the hellebores are standing proud. The snowdrops are sprouting in the undergrowth amongst the leaves and twigs. Even the hidden fairy garden is in flower, with beautiful pink camellias bringing a touch of joy.

Our patients and their families love to explore the gardens. Thank you to our volunteer gardeners for working so hard.

For a second year, we're proud to stand with over 126 hospices across England, Scotland, and Wales, for the "This is Hospice Care" campaign, brought together by Hospice UK.

Hospice care is more than you think, and its closer than you know. Somewhere in your life, in your family, your friendships, your community - hospice care is already making a difference in ways you might not expect.

But just as the ways we help people grow every year, the need also grows.

We're able to support one in four people we care for because someone - a stranger, a neighbour, someone who has never even used our services - decided hospice care matters enough to protect.

Someone you'll never meet made sure we could be here for your community.

Now we're asking you to be someone for the next generation. When you leave a Gift in your Will to us, you ensure that when someone in the New Forest, Totton and Waterside area needs support when life feels impossible - we're here.

Together, we can make sure that hospice care lives on for all, for now, forever.
