Residents at Linden House were honoured to welcome school children and members of the Royal British Legion Club Lymington recently for a deeply moving Remembrance visit.

Together, we held a quiet, heartfelt service to remember all those who served and sacrificed, with the Legion flag raised alongside the Union Jack and a minute’s silence observed.

Companionship Team Leader Sian reflected: “For residents unable to attend external services, hosting this personalised Remembrance service brought the day to life. It was a moving experience, filled with respect, reflection, and shared community spirit.”

There were smiles all around in Lymington as music lovers from Linden House recently took to the High Street to spread a little joy and raise awareness of dementia in the community.

Resident Liz, Companionship Team member Phil, and our much-loved dog Moxie staged a wonderful busking session outside St Thomas’s Church — complete with ukuleles, microphones, and a playlist of residents’ favourite tunes.

Passers-by stopped to listen, sing along, and even join in the dancing, while residents shared handmade crocheted forget-me-not gifts — a touching symbol of support for the Alzheimer’s Society.

A shared joke between two friends at Linden House sparked a bout of uncontrollable giggles — a truly heart-warming moment to be part of.

Margaret and Flo shared a joke with one another and it didn’t take long before the whole room was in fits of giggles – residents and staff alike, proving that laughter really is contagious!

As the seasons begin to change, our home has been filled with the warm colours and creativity of autumn.

To celebrate this beautiful time of year, we recently gathered for an autumnal art session, where residents painted their very own seasonal trees.

Art sessions like these are more than just creative fun — they bring real joy and meaningful engagement. For many of our residents, especially those living with dementia, painting provides emotional comfort and gentle stimulation.

Once again, we were thrilled to welcome residents aboard the Dolphin III, operated by the Friends of Dolphin, who generously offer these amazing free boat trips and sailing opportunities.

With residents Megan, Pamela, and Liz on board, we set off on a two-hour cruise around the Poole islands of Brownsea, Long Island, and Arne — well known for their bird populations and the occasional seal sighting.

Liz was enchanted by all the wonderful birds and enjoyed waving at passing boaters. Her experience was made even more special with Companion Phil by her side, pointing out sights and sharing interesting details along the way.

The day naturally concluded with fish and chips at Poole Park, where we enjoyed watching the train and the swans on the lake — a perfect ending to a beautiful outing.

It was a privilege to work alongside Brockenhurst Young Farmers and The Lymington Centre - The Community Centre to support New Forest Basics Food Bank: food & household items for those in need 💛

Thank you again to all who were able to donate to this worthy cause and to the Young Farmers for arranging for our residents to have an up-close encounter with their tractors!

As the leaves start to turn, with a hint of autumn in the air, what better time to take an outing on the minibus to visit Stewarts Garden Centres in Christchurch.

As soon as we arrived, residents stopped to admire carp and goldfish in the pond outside, then into the centre to enjoy the colourful plants, pots, tools, and displays.

Soon, it was time to head to the bustling in-store café to enjoy teas, coffee, and – more importantly – delicious cake!
