🎉 A Very Special Celebration at Hartwood House 🎉

Yesterday, we had the joy of hosting a beautifully heartfelt joint birthday party for a very special couple. Although their care needs mean they are currently living in separate homes, we wanted to make sure they could still celebrate their special day side by side.

So, we brought the party to Hartwood House! 💐💛

Residents, staff, and family all came together to enjoy a delicious afternoon tea, filled with smiles, laughter, and plenty of birthday cheer. It was truly heartwarming to see them reunited and able to share such a meaningful moment together.

Happy Birthday to this wonderful couple — thank you for letting us be part of your day! 🎂💖✨

We are back at it POT GANG 🌱

The weather doesn’t stop us gardening here at Hartwood House! This morning we are planting our purple cauliflowers, bean sprouts and peas!

Not all residents want to get their hands dirty and gardening isn’t for everyone, but we can’t deny it is very interesting to watch and to learn about these delicious veggies!

Thank you Demie for getting us all involved and teaching us new things too! 🤓

Today we hosted our monthly Musical Moments and what a wonderful session it was! 💛

We welcomed some new faces this time, and it was lovely to see everyone joining in! From classic favourites to toe-tapping tunes!🎵✨

🌸 Gardening Joy at Hartwood House 🌸

We’re thrilled to share that our wonderful gardening partners, Mustard Roots, have begun hosting monthly interactive gardening sessions and projects with our residents! 🌿

This month’s session focused on the fascinating world of orchids — learning how to care for them, encourage blooms, and keep them healthy. We were also kindly gifted several beautiful orchids to nurture and enjoy around the home. 💜

These sessions are more than just about plants — they’re about connection, creativity, and wellbeing. Gardening offers so many benefits, from boosting mood and reducing stress, to giving a wonderful sense of purpose and pride as we watch our plants thrive. 🌼

We’re so grateful to Mustard Roots for bringing nature, colour, and joy into our days — we can’t wait to see what next month’s project will bring! 🌱

🎶 Music and a whole lot of heart at Hartwood House!

We were treated to a very special surprise this week when two of our amazing care team members, Alfie and Thea, came in on their day off to share their musical talents with our residents. 🎸🎤

Alfie played the guitar beautifully while Thea’s lovely voice filled the room — and to make it even better, Geoff joined in with his harmonica! 🎶
