Type 1 diabetes is where your body cannot make a hormone called insulin. This causes your blood sugar to get too high.

Type 1 diabetes can happen at any age and if left undiagnosed, it can be fatal. The most common symptoms are the 4 Ts: Toilet, Thirsty, Tired, Thinner.

What is 16 Days of Action?

16 Days of Action is an annual campaign which takes place between 25 November (the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) and 10 December (World Human Rights Day). It’s a global call from organisations and individuals for an end to gender-based violence, and for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls.

Throughout the 16 days this year, organisations in Devon will be hosting a range of events and activities, details of which are below. Alongside these, a social media campaign is running which you can follow via 16 Days of Action Devon or by searching .
