🌸 Happy Mother’s Day 🌸

Today we celebrate the mums who guide us, comfort us, and fill our lives with love — from the incredible mothers in our team to the wonderful mums and grandmothers we support every day.

A Mother’s Day Poem

For every hug that calms our fears,
For every smile through all the years,
For every hand that helped us grow,
For every love we’ll always know.

A mother’s care, both strong and true,
In every little thing they do.
Today we pause to simply say,
Thank you, Mum — Happy Mother’s Day. 💛

To all the amazing mums in our Ablewell family — today we celebrate you.

💛 Feedback Friday

When client S’s eyesight suddenly deteriorated due to an infection, she was no longer able to read her daily schedule — something that helps her feel organised and reassured each day.

Without hesitation, our Macclesfield carer Philip took the time at home to reproduce S’s schedule in large print, so she could continue reading and following her daily plans independently.

This thoughtful act meant S could maintain her routine and confidence during a difficult time.

It’s a wonderful example of going above and beyond to support the people we care for — and we’re incredibly proud of Philip for showing such kindness and dedication. ⭐

Rachael is attending The Managers Conference this week — an opportunity to learn, connect and bring new ideas back to Ablewell Care.

With speakers from organisations including Skills for Care, CQC, The King’s Fund and the National Care Forum, it’s a valuable chance to stay up to date with the latest thinking in the care sector.

Regular training and development help our staff stay confident, skilled and informed — ensuring we continue to provide safe, high-quality care. That means better support for our clients and a team that feels prepared, supported and able to grow in their roles.

We’ll share more from the conference soon. 💛

Noticing changes in a loved one? It can be difficult to know when extra support is needed — but small signs can mean it’s time to have a conversation.

Signs someone may need help at home:

• Struggling with everyday tasks
• Concerns about their safety or wellbeing
• Neglecting personal hygiene or their home
• Unable to prepare meals
• Not taking medication as prescribed
• Becoming socially isolated
• Unable to call for help when needed
• Mobility issues affecting daily life
• Signs of cognitive or mental health decline

The right support can help someone stay safe, independent and comfortable in their own home.

If you recognise these signs, speak to our team today.

Caring is about community — and sometimes community looks like pancakes in the office 🥞💛

This Shrove Tuesday, we’re inviting our carers to pop in, warm up, and enjoy pancakes just how they like them.

A little pause in a busy day.
A chance to catch up and share a smile.
A small thank you for the incredible work they do every single day.

Because looking after our team matters just as much as the care they give to others. 💛

For Rachael, nothing compares to vocational learning. Working alongside experienced carers. Learning from the people we support. Gaining practical skills you simply can’t get in a classroom.

✨ National Apprenticeship Week ✨

“It’s not just a job.”

In this video, one of our apprentices shares what they really enjoy about working at Ablewell Care — the flexibility, the trust to be yourself, and the time to build genuine relationships with the people we support.

It’s about more than tasks and timetables. Sometimes it’s staying for a cup of tea, having a proper chat, and being someone’s friendly face in their day. For many people, that time and connection means everything.

At Ablewell Care, apprenticeships aren’t just about learning skills — they’re about growing confidence, building careers, and making a real difference, while being supported to be yourself.

If you’re looking for a role where flexibility, learning and meaningful relationships matter, an apprenticeship with Ablewell Care could be for you.
