Amy-Louise Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am an experienced therapist and offer individual therapy for children, adolescents and adults. I also work with parents of children of all ages individually or together as a family. I have 2 children of my own and understand only too well the rewards and challenges of being a parent! I hold a BSc honours degree Psychology ,a Postgraduate certificate in Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (PGcert), a certificate in Solution Focused Therapy and 4 years Advanced Training in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy

As a psychotherapist I adhere to the UK Council of Psychotherapy code of ethics and receive supervision in accordance with UKCP guidelines. I am also a member of the UKATA (United Kingdom Assosication for Transactional Analysis) the BPS (British Psychological Society) and am working towards full accreditation with BACP (British Association of counselling and psychotherapy). I hold a valid enhanced CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) certificate and hold full professional indemnity insurance

I have extensive experience of supporting individuals to manage a range of issues including depression, anxiety disorders (including social anxiety, OCD, generalised anxiety, panic and specific phobias), self harm, attachment difficulties, PTSD, eating disorders, relationship difficulties, low self esteem. I have also worked with parents of children with Autistic Spectrum Condition and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Over the last 11 years I also worked for the NHS within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health service.
